Dua Iftitah

It is recommended to recite the

following Du`a' al-Iftifah every night in
the Month of Ramadhan:

ِ ِ ِ ِ ّٰ
َ َ‫ُإنُأَفْ تَتحُالثَُّن‬
ُ ‫اءُِبَ ْمد َُك‬ ُ ‫اَللهُ َّم‬
O Allah: I begin the glorification of
You with praising You:

ُ ،‫ك‬ ِ ِ
‫ُِب‬ ِ
َ َ َ ٌ ‫تُم َس‬
ُ
‫ن‬ ‫اب‬ ‫و‬ ُ
‫لص‬
َّ ِ
‫ُل‬‫د‬ُ
‫د‬ِ َ ْ‫َوأَن‬
And You always guide us to the right
out of Your favoring upon us.
ِ ‫ني ُِِفُمو‬
ُ‫ض ِع‬ ِ ِ ‫ُالر‬
‫اِح‬ َّ ‫م‬ ‫ح‬‫َر‬‫أ‬ ُ‫ت‬ ‫ن‬
ْ َ
‫أ‬ ُ‫ك‬َ َّ
‫َوأَيْ َق ْنتُأَُن‬
َْ َ َْ َ
ُ ،‫الر ِْحَ ِة‬
َُّ ‫ُو‬ ِ
َ ‫ال َْع ْف‬
‫و‬
 Dua Iftitah

And I am certain that You are the

most Merciful of all those who show
mercy in situations of pardon and
mercy

ُ ،‫النِ ِق َم ِة‬
ُ ‫ُو‬َ ‫ال‬ ِ ‫ني ُِِفُمو‬
ِ ‫ض ِعُالُنَّ َك‬ َْ َ َ ِ‫ب‬ِ‫وأَ َشدُُالْمعاق‬
َ
But You are the very exacting in
situations of giving exemplary
punishment and chastisement (to the
wrongdoers),

ُ‫ْك ِْبََي ِء‬

ِ ‫ض ِعُال‬
ِ ‫وأَ ْعظَمُالْمتَجُِِبين ُِِفُمو‬
َْ َ َ َ
ُ .ُ ‫َوال َْعظَ َم ِة‬
And You are the greatest Omnipotent
in the domain of absolute power and
might.

ُ ،‫ك‬ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ّٰ
َ ‫ُوَم ْسأَلَت‬
َ‫ك‬ َ ‫تُِلُِفُد َعائ‬
َ ْ‫اَللهُ َّمُأَذن‬
O Allah: You have permitted me to

pray and beseech You.

ُ ،‫ُْسيع ُِم ْد َح ِِت‬

َِ ‫اْسَ ْعَُي‬
َ ْ َ‫ف‬
So, listen, O the All-hearer, to my
words of praise,

ُ ،‫ُد ْع َوِِت‬ ِ‫َجبَُيُر‬

ِ
َ َ َ ْ ‫َوأ‬
‫يم‬‫ح‬
And please reply my prayer; O the All-
merciful.

ُ ،‫ُعثْ َرِِت‬
َ َ َ ْ ‫َوأَق‬
‫ور‬ ‫ف‬ ‫غ‬ ُ‫َُي‬‫ل‬ ِ
And please overlook my slips; O the
Oft-Forgiving.
ِ ِ‫ُفَ َكمَُيُإِ ّٰٰل‬
ُ ،‫يُم ْنُك ْربٍَةُقَ ْدُفََُّر ْجتَ َها‬ َْ
You, O my God, have relieved so many
of my griefs,
ٍ
ُ ،‫َوُهومُقَ ْدُ َك َش ْفتَ َها‬
And You have dispelled so many of
Dua Iftitah

my sorrows

ُ ،‫َو َعثْ َرٍةُقَ ْدُأَقَ ْلتَ َها‬

And You have overlooked so many of
my slips,

ُ ،‫ِحَ ٍةُقَ ْدُنَ َش ْرََتَا‬

ُْ ‫َوَر‬
And You have spread over me many of
Your mercies
ٍ ‫وح ْل َق ِةُب‬
‫الءُقَ ْدُفَ َك ْكتَ َها؟‬َ ََ
And You have unlocked so many of
rings of misfortunes (in which I was
detained).

ُ ً‫الُولَدُا‬‫ُو‬ ‫ة‬ ‫ب‬ ِ

‫اح‬ ‫ُص‬‫ذ‬ْ ِ
‫خ‬ ُ
‫ت‬
َّ ‫ُي‬‫َل‬
َ ُ‫ي‬ ِ
‫ذ‬ َّ
ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُِ
‫ِل‬ّٰ ِ ُُ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
َ َ ًَ َ َْ
All praise be to Allah Who has not
betaken wife or son,

ُِ ‫يك ُِِفُالْم ْل‬

ُ‫ك‬ ٌ ‫َوََلُْيَك ْنُلَهُ َش ِر‬
Dua Iftitah

And Who has no partner in the

sovereignty,

ُ ‫ِليُ ِم َن‬
ُ .ً‫ُالذ ُِلُ َوَكُِْبهُتَ ْكبِريا‬ ُ ِ‫ُو‬
َ ‫َوََلُْيَك ْنُلَه‬
nor has He any protecting friend
through dependence. And Magnify
Him with all magnificence.
َِ َ‫ُعل‬،‫ا‬
ُ‫ىَُجي ِع‬ ‫ه‬ ِ
ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ُك‬ ِ
‫ه‬ ‫د‬ِ ِ َ‫َُم‬
‫ام‬ ِ ِ
َ َ ُُ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
‫ع‬
ِ ‫ي‬‫م‬ ‫ِب‬ ُُِ
‫ِل‬ّٰ ِ
َ َ
ُ .ُ ‫نِ َع ِم ِهُكُلِ َها‬
All praise be to Allah with full
gratitude for all His bounties.

ُ ،‫ادُلَه ُِِفُم ْل ِك ِه‬

َُّ ‫ض‬
َ ‫يُالُم‬ ِ
‫ذ‬ َّ
ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُِ
‫ِل‬ّٰ ِ ُُ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
All praise be to Allah Who has no
opposition in His rule,

ُ .ُ ‫عُلَه ُِِفُأ َْم ِرِه‬

َ ‫َوالُمنَا ِز‬
nor there is any challenge to His
Dua Iftitah

commands.

ُ ،‫يكُلَه ُِِفُ َخ ْل ِق ِه‬ِ

‫ر‬
َ َ ‫ش‬ ُ‫يُال‬ ِ
‫ذ‬ َّ
ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُِ
‫ِل‬ّٰ ِ ُُ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
All praise be to Allah Who has no
counsel to meddle with His operation
of creation,

ُ .‫ُعظَ َمتِ ِه‬

َ ِ
‫ُِف‬‫ه‬َ‫ل‬ ُ ِ
َ ‫َوالُ َشب‬
‫يه‬
nor there is anything similar to Him
in His greatness.

ُ ،ُ ‫ُو َِحْده‬‫ه‬‫ر‬‫َم‬ ‫أ‬ ُ‫ق‬ِ ‫ل‬

ْ َْ
‫ُاْل‬ ِ
‫يُِف‬ ِ
‫اش‬‫ف‬َ ْ
‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُِ
‫ِل‬ّٰ ِ ُ‫د‬
ُ ‫م‬ ‫ْل‬
ْ ‫ا‬
َ
َ ْ ْ َ
All praise be to Allah Whose
commandments are active in the
creation and the praising of Whom is
incumbent.

ُ ،ُ ‫َُمده‬ ِ ِ َّ‫الظ‬
ِ ‫اه ِر‬
َْ ‫ُِبلْ َك َرم‬
His glory is evident through His
kindness,

ِ ‫اس ِط‬
ِ ‫ُِب ْْل‬
ُ ،‫ودُيَ َده‬ ِ ‫الْب‬
َ
His distinct overflowing generosity is
freely available,

ُ ،‫اُلَّ ِذيُالُتَ ْن قصُ َخ َزائِنه‬

His unlimited bestowals do not
exhaust,

ًُ‫ُوَك َرما‬‫ا‬
ً ‫ود‬ ‫ُج‬ َّ
‫ال‬ ِ
‫إ‬ُ ِ
‫اء‬ ‫ط‬
َ ‫ْع‬‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ة‬‫ر‬ ‫ث‬
ْ ‫ك‬
َ ُ‫ه‬ ‫يد‬ِ
‫ز‬ ‫ت‬
َ ُ‫ال‬‫و‬
َ َ َ َ
and He does not swell the numerous
benefits except because of generosity
and kindness.

ُ .‫إُنَّهُه َوُال َْع ِزيزُال َْو َّهاب‬

Verily He is Mighty, Generous.

ُ ،‫الًُ ِم ْنُ َكثِ ٍري‬

ُ ‫كُقَلِي‬‫َل‬
‫أ‬ ‫َس‬
‫أ‬ ُُ ِ
‫ُإن‬ ‫م‬ ّٰ
َّ َ‫ا‬
‫ه‬
ُ ‫لل‬
َ ْ
O Allah, I ask for some from much,
Dua Iftitah

ُ‫يم ٍة‬‫ظ‬ِ ‫ُع‬‫ه‬ِ ‫ي‬‫ل‬ ‫ُإ‬ ِ

‫ُِب‬ ٍ
‫ة‬ ‫اج‬
َ َ ْ َ َ ‫ُح‬
َ ‫َم َع‬
in the midst of my many needs for
which I entirely depend on You,
ِ ‫اكُع ْنهُقَ ِدميٌُوهو‬
ُ ،ٌ‫ُع ْن ِديُ َكثِري‬ َ ‫ن‬‫غ‬ِ‫و‬
َ َ َ َ َ
and You since eternity, are able to do
without them, but for me it is a titanic
effort

ُ .ٌ‫ُس ْه ٌلُيَ ِسري‬

َ ‫ك‬َ ‫ُعلَْي‬
َ ‫َوه َو‬
and for You it is very easy and simple.

ُ ،‫ُع ْنُ َذنِِْب‬ َّ ّٰ

َ َ َ ْ َ َّ َ‫ا‬
‫ك‬‫و‬ ‫ف‬ ‫ع‬ ُُ
‫ُإن‬ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬
ُ ‫لل‬
O Allah, truly, as You pardon my sins,

ُ ،‫ُع ُْنُ َخ ِطيئَ ِِت‬

َ ‫َوََتَاوَز َك‬
And You overlook my mistakes;

ُ ،‫ُع ْنُظ ْل ِمي‬

َ ‫ك‬َ ‫ص ْف َح‬
َ ‫َو‬
Dua Iftitah

And You take a lenient view of my

disorderly conduct,

ُ ،‫ُع َم ِلي‬
َ ‫يح‬
ِ ِ
‫ب‬َ‫ق‬ُ‫ى‬َ‫ل‬‫ُع‬ ِ
َ َ ْ ‫َو‬
‫ك‬
َ ‫ْت‬ ‫س‬
And You cover up my foul actions,

ُ‫ُماُ َكا َن ُِم ْن‬‫د‬ ‫ن‬

َ َْ ْ
ِ
‫يُع‬ ِ
‫م‬‫ر‬‫ُج‬ ِ
‫ري‬ ِ
‫ث‬ ‫ك‬
َ ْ َ َ َ ‫َو‬
ُ‫ن‬ ‫ُع‬‫ك‬ ‫م‬ ‫ل‬
ْ ِ
‫ح‬
‫إيُو َع ُْم ِدي‬
َ ‫ط‬
َ ‫خ‬
َ
And You show consideration in spite
of my many transgressions committed
willfully or negligently,

ُ‫ك‬ ‫ن‬ ِ
‫ُم‬ ‫ه‬ ‫ب‬‫ج‬ِ
َ ْ ‫َستَ ْو‬ ‫أ‬ ُ‫اُال‬‫ُم‬ ‫ك‬
َ ‫ل‬
ََ‫أ‬‫َس‬ ‫أ‬ ُ‫ن‬ْ َ
‫أ‬ ُ‫ُِف‬ ِ ‫أَطْ َم َع ِِن‬
ْ َ ْ
ُ ،‫ك‬ ِ ْ ‫ن‬ ِ
َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ ‫اُل‬
‫ت‬ ‫ِح‬ ‫ُر‬ ‫ُم‬ ‫ِن‬ِ ‫ت‬ ‫ق‬
ْ ‫ز‬‫يُر‬ ِ
‫ذ‬ َّ
All that tempted me to ask for that
which I do not deserve, from You, on
account of Your mercy, that You may
give me the daily bread;

ِ ِ
َ َ ْ ْ ‫َوأ ََريْ تَ ِِن‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ ‫ت‬‫ر‬ ‫د‬ ‫ُق‬ ‫ن‬ ‫ُم‬
And You may provide with that which
is suitable for me, through Your
control;
ِ
‫ت‬ ‫اب‬‫ُإج‬‫ن‬ ِ
َ َ َ ْ ‫َو َعَُّرفْ تَ ِِن‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ ‫ُم‬
And You may distinguish me with
favorable reply to my requests.
ِ ‫وك‬
ُ ،ً‫ُآمنا‬ ِ َ‫ف‬
َ ‫ص ْرتُأَ ْدع‬
So, I persist in calling out, believing in
You,

ُ ‫الُو ِج‬
ُ ،ً‫ال‬ َ َ ‫ُو‬‫ا‬
ً ‫ف‬ِ‫ائ‬‫خ‬َ ُ‫ُال‬‫ا‬
ً ‫س‬ِ‫ن‬ْ‫كُم ْستَأ‬
َ ‫َسأَل‬
ْ ‫َوأ‬
and I invoke You, talking familiarly,
not afraid, nor shy,

َُ ‫ص ْدتُفِ ِيهُُإِلَْي‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ َ ِ‫كُف‬
َ َ ََْ ً ‫م‬
‫ق‬ ُ‫ا‬‫يم‬ ‫ي‬‫ل‬
َ ‫ع‬ ُُ
‫ال‬ ِ
‫د‬
but assured of Your love and kindness

whenever I turn to You.

ُ ،‫ك‬ َ‫ل‬ ‫يُع‬ ِ

‫ل‬ ‫ه‬ ِ
َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ ََ َ ْ َ‫ف‬
‫ي‬ ‫ُِب‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ب‬ ‫ت‬‫ُع‬ ُ
‫ِن‬ِ ‫أُع‬‫ط‬
َ ‫َب‬
‫أ‬ ُُ
‫ن‬ْ ِ
‫إ‬
A temporary setback and I, out of
ignorance, begin to despair,

ُ‫ك‬ ِ
‫م‬ ‫ل‬ ِ
‫ع‬ ِ
‫ُل‬ ِ
‫ُِل‬ ِ ِ َّ
َ ْ ٌْ َ َ َ ْ ‫َولَ َع َُّلُاُل‬
‫ري‬ ‫خ‬ ُ‫و‬ ‫ُه‬ ُ
‫ِن‬ ‫َُع‬
‫أ‬ ‫ط‬
َ ‫َب‬
‫أ‬ ُ‫ي‬ ‫ذ‬
ُ ،‫بِ َعاقِبَ ِةُاألموِر‬
although perhaps slowing down may
be a blessing in disguise, because You
alone knows (all) the consequences.

ُ‫ىُع ْب ٍدُلَئِ ٍيم‬

َ َ‫ُعل‬
َ ‫ب‬ ََ ‫َص‬
ْ ‫أ‬ ُ‫ا‬
ً ‫مي‬ِ
‫ر‬ ‫َلُ َك‬
ًَ ‫ُم ْو‬
َ ‫فَ لَ ْمُأ ََر‬
ُ ،‫ُعلَ َُّي‬ ‫ك‬ ‫ن‬‫م‬ِ
َ َْ
I do not know a generous Master who
is more accommodating to the
dissatisfied servants than You are to
me.

ُ ،‫ك‬ ‫ن‬‫ُع‬ُ
‫ِل‬
َ َْ َ ِ‫و‬ ‫أ‬َ‫ف‬ُ ِ
‫ون‬ ‫ع‬ ‫د‬
ْ ‫ت‬
َ ُُ
‫ك‬َ َّ
‫ن‬ ِ
‫إ‬ ُ، ُ
‫ب‬ِ ‫ََي َر‬
O Lord! You give an invitation but I
turn down,

َُ ‫ُإِلُفأَتَ بَ ُغَّضُإِلَْي‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ ََُّ ‫َوتَ تَ َحُبَّب‬
And You become familiar with me but
I do not care for You,

ُ‫ك‬ ِ ََُّ ‫َوتَ تَ َو َُّدد‬

َ ْ ‫ُإِلُفَالُأَقْ بَل‬
‫ن‬ ‫ُم‬
And You show affection to me but I do
not correspond to You

ُ ،‫ك‬
َ ‫ُعلَْي‬ ِ
َ ‫ِلُالُتَّطَُو َل‬
َ ََُُّ
‫َن‬ ‫أ‬‫ك‬
as if You are overreaching me!

ُِ ‫اْل ْح َس‬
ُ‫ان‬ ِْ ‫ُو‬ َُّ ‫ك ُِم َن‬
َُ ‫ُالر ِْحَ ِة ُِِل‬ ِ
َ ‫كُذل‬
َ ‫فَ لَ ْمُميَْنَ ْع‬
ُ ،ُ ‫إِل‬
ََُّ
Dua Iftitah

Yet You do not abstain from having

mercy upon me and doing favors to
me
ِ ِ ِ
ُ ،‫ك‬ ‫م‬‫ر‬‫ك‬‫ُو‬
َ َ ََ ‫ك‬َ ‫ود‬ ‫ِب‬ َ ‫َوالتَُّ َفضُ ِل‬
ُ‫ُعلَ َُّي‬
and blessing me out of Your
magnanimity and generosity,

ُ‫ض ِل‬ ِ ِ ‫ي‬‫ل‬

َ ‫ُع‬‫د‬ ‫ج‬‫ُو‬‫ل‬ ِ
ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ‫ُع ْب َد َكُا ْْل‬
‫ف‬ ‫ب‬ ُ‫ه‬ ‫اه‬ َ ‫فَ ْار َح ْم‬
ُ‫ك‬ ِ
َ ‫إح َسان‬
ْ
So, (please) have mercy on Your
ignorant servant and bestow upon
him with the favors of Your
beneficence

َُ َّ‫إِن‬
ُ .ٌُ‫كُ َج َوا ٌدُ َك ِرمي‬
Verily, You are Generous and Kind.
ِ ‫كُالْم ْل‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ ُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلمد‬
ِ ِ‫ِلُمال‬
ُ
َ َْ
Dua Iftitah

All praise be to Allah: the owner of the

sovereignty,
ِ ‫َْم ِريُالْف ْل‬
ُ ،‫ك‬
Who sets the course of skies and the
stars,

ُِ ‫م َس‬
ُِ ‫خ ِر‬
ُ ،‫ُالرََي ِح‬
Who controls the winds,

ُ ،‫اح‬‫ب‬
ِ َْ‫ُاْلص‬‫ق‬ِ ِ
‫فَال‬
Who causes the day break,

ُِ ‫َد ََّي ِن‬

ُ ،‫ُالدي ِن‬
and Who administers the authority:

ُ .‫ني‬ ِ
َ َ ‫َر‬
‫م‬ ‫ل‬
َ ‫ا‬‫ْع‬
‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُ
‫ب‬ِ
the Lord of the worlds.
ِ ‫ىُح ْل ِم ِهُب ع َد‬
ُ ،‫ُع ْل ِم ِه‬ ِ َ‫ِلُعل‬
ُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلمد‬
ُ
َْ َ َْ
Dua Iftitah

All praise be to Allah for His

indulgence although He has full
acquaintance with all things.
ِ
ُ ،ُ ‫ىُع ْف ِوِهُبَ ْع َدُق ْد َرته‬
ِ َ‫ل‬‫ع‬ ُُُِِّٰ‫وا ْْلمد‬
‫ِل‬
َ َ َْ َ
All praise be to Allah for His amnesty
although He has full power over all
things.

ُ‫ضبِ ِه‬
ََ‫غ‬ ُ ِ
‫ُِف‬‫ه‬ِ ِ
‫ت‬ ‫ََن‬
َ ‫أ‬ ُ ِ
‫ول‬ ‫ىُط‬ ِّٰ ِ
َ َ ُ‫َوا ْْلَ ْمد‬
‫ل‬‫ع‬ ُُ
‫ِل‬
All praise be to Allah for the respite
that He allows inspite of provocation.

ُ .‫ىُماُي ِريد‬ ِ
َ َ ٌ َ‫َوه َوُق‬
َ‫ل‬‫ُع‬ ‫ر‬ ‫اد‬
He is able to do whatever He wills.

ُُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬

ْ ‫ِلُ َخالِ ِق‬
ُ ،‫ُاْلَْل ِق‬
All praise be to Allah, the Creator of
all the created beings,
Dua Iftitah

ُِ ‫َِب ِس ِط‬
ُ ،‫ُالرْز ِق‬
Who makes the sustenance freely
available,

ُ ،‫اح‬
ِ َ‫ُاْلصب‬‫ق‬ِ ِ‫فَال‬
ْ
Who starts the day,

ُ‫ُواْلنْ َع ِام‬‫ل‬ِ ‫ض‬ ‫ف‬ْ‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ُو‬ ِ

‫ام‬ ‫ر‬‫ك‬ْ ‫اْل‬‫ُو‬ ِ
‫الل‬ ‫ْل‬
ْ ‫يُا‬ ِ
‫ذ‬
َ ْ َ َ َ َ َ
Who is the Owner of glory, might,
favours, and bounties,

ُ ،ُ ‫اُلَّ ِذيُبَع َدُفَالُي َرى‬

And Who is so far away that none can
ever see Him,

ُ ،‫بُفَ َش ِه َدُالُنَّ ْج َوى‬

َ ‫َوقَ ر‬
And, in the same time, He is so near
that He is fully aware of even the
whispering secrets.
Dua Iftitah

َُ ‫ُوتَ َُعِإ‬
ُ .‫َل‬ َ ‫تَ بَ َار َك‬
Blessed and Exalted be He.

ُ ،ُ ‫ادله‬ ُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلمد‬

ِ ‫ِلُاُلَّ ِذيُلَيسُلَهُمنَا ِزعٌُي ع‬
ُ
َ َ ْ َْ
All praise be to Allah Who has no
equal to challenge Him,

ُ ،‫َوالُ َشبِيهٌُي َشاكِله‬

nor is there an image comparable to
Him,
ِ ‫والُظَ ِهريُي ع‬
ُ ،ُ ‫اضده‬ َ ٌ َ
nor is there a helper to assist Him.

ُ ،‫اء‬‫ز‬
َّ ِ
‫ع‬ َ
‫أل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ه‬ِ ِ
‫ت‬‫ز‬ُ
َّ ِ ِ‫قَ هرُب‬
‫ع‬
َ ََ
He tames the powerful by (His) force,

ُ ،‫ض َعُلِ َعظَ َمتِ ِهُالْعظَ َماء‬

َ ‫َوتَ َوا‬
Dua Iftitah

and disgraced are the great ones

before His Greatness,

ُ .‫ُماُيَ َشاء‬‫ه‬ِِ‫فَ ب لَ َغُبِق ْدرت‬

َ َ َ
so He, through His power, fulfills that
which He wills.

ُ ،‫نيُأ ََن ِد ِيه‬ ِ ‫يُُييب ِِن‬

‫ُح‬ ِ ‫ذ‬ ُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلمد‬
ِ َّ‫ِلُاُل‬
ُ
َ َْ
All praise be to Allah Who gives
answer to me whenever I call Him;
ِ ‫ُعلَ َّيُُك َُّلُ َعورٍةُوأ َََنُأَ ْع‬
ُ ،‫ص ِيه‬ َ ‫ْت‬ ‫س‬ ‫ي‬‫و‬
َ َ ْ َ
ْ َ
And He covers up my shortcomings,
yet I disobey Him;

ُ ،‫ُعلَ َُّيُفَالُأ َجا ِز ِيه‬‫ة‬ ‫م‬

َ ََْ‫ع‬ُِ
‫ُالن‬‫م‬ ِ
ُ
‫ظ‬ ‫َوي َع‬
And He gives me the largest part of
the bounties, yet I do not show his
gratitude.
Dua Iftitah

ُ ،‫ُهنِيئَ ٍةُقَ ْدُأَ ْعطَ ِان‬‫ة‬ٍ ‫فَ َكم ُِمنُمو ِهب‬

َ َ َْ ْ ْ
Many a auspicious favors had He
given me;

ُ ،‫َُموفَ ٍةُقَ ْدُ َك َف ِان‬ ٍ ِ

َ َ ‫َو َع‬
‫ة‬ ‫يم‬‫ظ‬
And many a terrible dangers had He
turned off,

‫َوََبْ َج ٍةُمونَِق ٍةُقَ ْدُأ ََر ِان؟‬

And many a blossoming joys had He
made available for me,

ُ ،ًُ‫ُح ِامدا‬ ِ ‫ُعلَي‬

َ ْ َ ‫فَأثِِْن‬
‫ه‬
Therefore, I sing His praises and
recite His glorifications.

ُ .ً‫َوأَذْكرهُم َسُبِحا‬
And mention Him with exaltation.
Dua Iftitah

ِ ‫ِلُاُلَّ ِذيُالُي هتك‬

ُ ،‫ُح َجابه‬ ِ
ُّٰ ِ ُُ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
َْ
All praise be to Allah Whose screen
cannot be penetrated

ُ ،ُ ‫ُِببه‬
َ ‫َوالُي غْلَق‬
And Whose door is not blocked;

ُ ،‫َوالُي َردُُ َسائِله‬

And Whose beseecher is not rejected;
ِ ‫والُُيَُيَّب‬
ُ .‫ُآمله‬ َ
And one who hopes Him is not
disappointed.

ُ ،ُ ‫ني‬‫ف‬ِِ‫ُاْلَائ‬
ْ ‫ن‬ ِ‫ِلُاُلَّ ِذيُي ْؤ‬
‫م‬ ُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلمد‬
ُ
َ َْ
All praise be to Allah Who secures the
frightened ones,

ُ ،‫ني‬ِِ ‫يُالص‬
‫اْل‬ َّ ُ
‫ج‬ِ َ‫َوي ن‬
َ
Dua Iftitah

Who comes to the help of the upright

ones,

ُ ،‫ني‬ ِ ‫ضع‬
َ َ ْ َ‫َويَُ ْرفَعُالْم ْست‬
‫ف‬
Who promotes the cause of the weak
ones,

ُ ،‫ين‬
َ ِ
‫ب‬ ِ ‫ك‬
ْ ‫ت‬
َ ‫س‬
ْ ‫ْم‬
‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ع‬ ‫ض‬
َ ‫ي‬
َ‫و‬َ
annihilates the autocrats,

ُ ‫ين؛‬ِ
‫ر‬ ‫خ‬ ‫ُآ‬‫ف‬‫ل‬ِ ‫خ‬ ‫ت‬‫س‬ ‫ي‬‫ُو‬‫ا‬
ْ َْ ََ ً ‫ك‬
‫و‬ ‫ل‬‫ُم‬‫ك‬ِ
‫َوي ْهل‬
َ َ
Who destroys rulers and appoints
others instead.

ُ ،‫ين‬ِ
‫ر‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ب‬‫ْل‬
ْ ‫ُا‬‫م‬ِ ِ
‫اص‬ ِّٰ ِ
َ ُ‫َوا ْْلَ ْمد‬
‫ق‬ُُ
‫ِل‬
َ ََّ
All praise be to Allah; the Eradicator
of the tyrants,

ُ ،‫ني‬‫م‬ِ ِ‫مبِ ِريُالظَّال‬

َ
The Terminator of the unjust ones,
Dua Iftitah

ُ ،‫ني‬ِ
‫ب‬ِ
‫ر‬ ‫ا‬ ْ
‫ٰل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ك‬ِ ‫م ْد ِر‬
َ َ
The Catcher of the fugitives,

ُ ،‫ني‬‫م‬ِ ِ‫الُالظَّال‬
ِ ‫نَ َك‬
َ
The Punisher of the unjust ones,
ِ‫يخُالْمستص ِر‬
َ ْ َ ْ ِ ‫ص ِر‬
ُ ،‫ني‬‫خ‬ َ
The aide of the seekers of aid,

ُ ،‫ني‬ِ
‫ب‬ِ‫اتُالطَّال‬
ِ ‫اج‬ ِ
َ َ َ ‫َم ْو‬
‫ُح‬‫ع‬ِ ‫ض‬
The Settler of the needs of the
beseechers,

ُ .‫ني‬ِ
‫ن‬ ِ‫معتم ِدُالْم ْؤ‬
‫م‬
َ َ َْ
And the support of the the faithful
believers.
ِ ‫ِلُاُلَّ ِذ‬
َُّ ‫يُم ْنُ َخ ْشيَتِ ِهُتَ ْرعدُا‬
ُ‫لس َماء‬ ُُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
Dua Iftitah

ُ ،‫َوس َّكاُنَا‬
All praise be to Allah! In His awe-
inspiring fear the heavens and its
dwellers tremble and shiver,

ُ ،‫ُوع َّمارَها‬
َ ‫ض‬‫ر‬
ْ َ
‫أل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ف‬‫ج‬‫ر‬
ْ ‫ت‬
َ‫و‬َ
And the earth and its inhabitants
shake and quiver,

ُ ،‫ُوَم ْنُيَ ْسبَح ُِِفُغَ َم َر ِاَتَا‬

َ ‫ار‬‫ح‬َ ِ
‫ب‬ ْ
‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫وج‬ ‫َت‬
َ ‫و‬َ
And the oceans and all that which
float and swim in their waters flow
together in excitement and tumult.

ُ‫ي‬ ‫د‬ ُُِِّٰ‫اَ ْْلمد‬

ِ َ‫ِلُاُلَّ ِذيُه َد َاَن ُِٰل َذاُوماُكنَّاُلِنَ ْهت‬
ُ
َ ََ َ َْ
ُّٰ َ‫ُه َد َاَنُا‬
ُ .‫ِل‬ َ ‫لَ ْوالُأَ ْن‬
All praise be to Allah Who has guided
us to this. We could not truly have

been led aright if Allah had not guided

us.

ُ ،‫ُوََلُُْيْلَ ْق‬‫ق‬ ‫ل‬‫يُُي‬ ِ

‫ذ‬ َّ
ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُِ
‫ِل‬ّٰ ِ ُُ‫اَ ْْلَ ْمد‬
َ َْ
All praise be to Allah Who creates but
He is not created;

ُ ،‫ُوالُي ْرَزق‬
َ ‫ق‬‫ز‬‫ر‬ْ ‫ي‬
َ‫و‬َ
And He gives subsistence but He
needs no provisions;

ُ ،ُ ‫ُوالُيطْ َعم‬‫م‬ ِ ْ‫ويط‬

‫ع‬
َ َ
And He gives food to eat but He takes
no nourishment,

ُ ،‫اء‬‫ي‬‫ح‬ َ
‫أل‬ ‫ُا‬‫يت‬ِ
‫َومي‬
َ َْ
And He makes the living dead

ُ ،‫َو ُْييِيُال َْم ْوتَى‬

And He brings the dead to life,

ُ ،‫الُميوت‬
َ ُ‫ُح يُي‬
َ ‫َوه َو‬
But He is the Everliving, there is no
death for Him,

ْ ‫بِيَ ِد ِه‬
ُ ،ُ ‫ُاْلَ ْري‬
in His hands is all the good,

ُ .‫ُعلَىُك ُِلُ َش ْي ٍءُقَ ِد ٌير‬

َ ‫َوه َو‬
and He is able to do all things.

ُ‫ك‬ِ ِ ٍ ِ ّٰ
َ َ َ َ ْ َ َّ َ َ َ َّ َ‫ا‬
‫ول‬ ‫س‬‫ر‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬‫د‬ ‫ب‬‫ع‬ ُ ُ
‫د‬ ‫م‬ ‫َم‬ ُ‫ى‬ ‫ل‬‫ع‬ ُ ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ُص‬‫م‬ ‫ه‬
ُ ‫لل‬
O Allah: (please do) send blessings on
Muhammad, Your servant and
Messenger,

ُ‫ك‬ِ
‫ب‬ ‫ي‬ِ
‫ب‬ ‫ح‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬ُِ
‫ي‬‫ف‬ِ
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ‫َوأ‬
‫ص‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬ِ
‫ين‬ ِ
‫َم‬
And Your confidant, friend, and
beloved intimate,
Dua Iftitah

ُ ،‫ك‬ ِ ْ ‫خ‬ ُ‫ن‬ ِ

َ َ ْ َ ََ ‫َو‬
‫ق‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ُم‬‫ك‬ِ‫ت‬‫ري‬ ِ
‫خ‬
And the choicest of Your created
beings,
ِ ‫وح ِاف ِظ‬
ُ ،‫ُسُِر َك‬ ََ
And the bearer of Your sacraments,

ُ‫ك‬ِ
‫االت‬ ‫س‬ِ
َ َ ‫َومبَ ُل‬
‫ر‬ ُ‫غ‬ِ ِ
And the quotient of Your Messengers,

ُ‫ََجَ َل‬
ْ ‫ُوأ‬
َ ‫َح َس َن‬
ْ ‫ُوأ‬ َ ْ‫أَف‬
َ ‫ض َل‬
With the most superior, the most
exquisite, the most handsomer,

َ ‫ُوأَ ْزَك‬
‫ىُوأ َْْنَى‬ َ ‫َوأَ ْك َم َل‬
the most perfect, the most upright,
the most prospering,

ُ‫َس َن‬
ْ ‫ُوأ‬‫ر‬‫ه‬َ ‫ط‬
ْ َ
‫أ‬
َ َ َ َ َ‫ُو‬
ُ ‫ب‬‫ي‬
َ ‫ط‬
ْ َ
‫أ‬‫و‬
Dua Iftitah

the most pleasant, the most

thoroughly purified, the most
sublime;

ُ‫ت‬ ْ ‫ِب‬‫ُو‬‫ت‬ ‫ي‬َّ

َ َ َ َ َ ْ ‫اُصُل‬
‫ك‬‫ر‬ َ ‫َوأَ ْكثَ َر‬
َ ‫ُم‬
The most and the best blessings,
advantages,

ُ‫ت‬
َ ‫ُوََتَنَُّ ْن‬
َ ‫ت‬َ ُ
‫ِح‬
ْ َّ ‫َوتَ َر‬
mercies, affections

ُ‫ك‬ِ ِ‫ب‬‫ن‬َ
َ َ ْ َ َ ْ ‫َح‬
‫ائ‬‫ي‬ ‫أ‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬ ِ
‫اد‬‫ب‬‫ع‬ِ ُ ‫ن‬ ِ
‫ُم‬‫د‬ٍ َّ
َ َ َ ْ ‫َو َسُل‬
‫أ‬ ُ‫ى‬َ‫ل‬ ‫ُع‬‫ت‬َ ‫م‬
And salutations that You have ever
made available to anyone of Your
servants and Prophets,

ُ‫ك ُِم ْن‬ ‫ي‬‫ل‬ ‫ُع‬‫ة‬ِ ‫ام‬

‫ر‬ ‫ك‬ْ‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ل‬ِ ‫َه‬
‫أ‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬ِ
َ َْ َ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ َ ‫َورس‬
‫ت‬‫و‬ ‫ف‬ ِ
‫ص‬ ‫ُو‬‫ك‬‫ل‬ِ

ُ .‫ك‬ ِ
َ ‫َخ ْل‬
‫ق‬
And Messengers and choicest people
Dua Iftitah

and those honored by You from

among Your created beings.

ُ ،‫ني‬ِ
‫ن‬ ِ‫اَ ّٰللهُ َّمُوص ُِلُعلَىُعلِ ٍُيُأ َِم ِريُالْم ْؤ‬
‫م‬
َ َ َ َ َ
O Allah: (please do) send blessings on
`Ali, the Commander of the Believers,

ُ ،‫ني‬‫م‬ِ ‫ل‬ ‫ا‬‫ْع‬

‫ل‬ ‫ا‬ ُُ
‫ب‬ِ ‫ُر‬ ِ
‫ول‬ ‫س‬‫ر‬ ِ
َ َ ََ َ ‫َوَو‬
ُ ُ
‫ي‬
ِ ‫ص‬
And the successor of the Messenger of
the Lord of the worlds:

‫ول‬
َ َ ‫س‬‫يُر‬ ِ
‫َخ‬‫أ‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬َ ِ
ُ
‫ي‬ِ‫ل‬‫و‬‫ُو‬‫ك‬َ ِ
‫د‬ ‫ب‬ ‫ع‬
َ ََ َ ْ
Your servant, Your beloved
representative, and the brother of
Your Messenger,

ُ ،‫ك‬ ِ
َ َ َ َ ‫جت‬
‫ق‬ ‫ل‬
ْ ‫خ‬ ُ‫ى‬َ‫ل‬‫ُع‬ ‫ك‬ِ َُّ ‫َوح‬
and Your decisive argument over the
mankind,

ُ ،ُ ‫بى‬ ِ
َ ْ َ ‫َوآيَت‬
‫ْك‬
‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ك‬
And Your most important sign,

ُ ،‫َوالنَُُّبَُأَُال َْع ِظ ِيم‬

And the great news (from You).

‫اه َرُِة‬
ِ َّ‫ىُالص ُِدي َق ِةُالط‬
ُِ َ‫ص ُِلُ َعل‬
َ ‫َو‬
And (please do) send blessings on the
truthful, pure Lady,

ُ ،‫ني‬‫م‬ِ ‫ل‬
َ ‫ا‬‫ْع‬
‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬ ِ ‫اطمةَُسُيِ َد ِةُنِس‬
‫اء‬ ِ َ‫ف‬
َ َ َ َ َ
Fatimah: the Doyenne of the women
of the world.

ُ ،‫ُالر ِْحَ ِة‬ ِ َ‫وص ُِلُ َعل‬

َُّ ‫ىُس ْب ُطَ ِي‬ َ َ
And (please do) send blessings on the
sons of ‘the mercy to the worlds’

‫َو َإم َام ِيُا ْٰل َدى‬

Dua Iftitah

And the two leaders of true guidance,

ِ ْ ‫ُوا ْْل َس‬
ُ‫ني‬ ِ
َ ‫ا ْْلَ َس‬
‫ن‬
Al-Hasan and al-Husayn,

ُ ،‫ابُأ َْه ِلُا ْْلَُنَّ ِة‬

ِ َ‫َسُيِ َد ْيُ َشب‬
the two Chiefs of the dwellers of
Paradise.

َُ ‫ص ُِلُ َعلَىُأَئِ َُّم ِةُالْم ْسلِ ِم‬

ُ :‫ني‬ َ ‫َو‬
And (please do) send blessings on the
leaders of the Muslims,
ِ ْ ‫َعلِ ُِيُبْ ِنُا ْْل َس‬
ُ ،‫ني‬
`Ali bin al-Husayn,

ُ ،‫ُعلِ ٍُي‬ ِ ِ
َ ْ ‫َوَمَ َُّم‬
‫ن‬ ‫ُب‬‫د‬
Muhammad bin `Ali,

ُ ،ُ ‫َو َج ْع َف ِرُبْ ِنَُم َّم ٍُد‬

Ja`far bin Muhammad,

Musa bin Ja`far,

‫ي‬ِ ِ‫و َعل‬

`Ali bin Musa,

ُ ،‫ُعلِ ٍُي‬ ِ ِ
َ ْ ‫َوَمَ َُّم‬
‫ن‬ ‫ُب‬‫د‬
Muhammad bin `Ali,

ُ ،‫َو َعلِ ُِيُبْ ِنَُم َّم ٍُد‬

`Ali bin Muhammad,

ُ ،‫ُعلِ ٍُي‬
َ ‫َوا ْْلَ َس ِنُبْ ِن‬
Al-Hasan bin `Ali,

ُِ ‫اديُال َْم ْه ِد‬

ُ ،‫ي‬ ِ َ‫فُا ْٰل‬
ِ َ‫اْلَل‬
ْ ‫َو‬
and the successor, the guide, and the
Dua Iftitah

rightly guided

ُ ،‫اد َك‬ ِ َ‫كُعل‬

ِ ‫ىُعب‬ ِ
َ َ َ ‫ح َج‬
‫ج‬
(Those Imams are) Your decisive
arguments over Your servants,
ِ ِ‫ك ُِِفُب‬
ُ‫الد َك‬ ِ
َ ‫َوأ َمنَائ‬
Your trustworthy confidants in Your
lands—

ُ .ً‫ُدائِ َمة‬‫ة‬
ً‫ري‬ِ
َ َ ‫صال ًةُ َكث‬
َ
Blessings that are numerous and non-
stop.

ُ‫ِلُأ َْم ِر َك‬

ُِ ‫ىُو‬ ِ ّٰ
َ َ َ َ َ َّ َ‫ا‬
‫ل‬‫ع‬ ُُ
‫ل‬ ‫ص‬‫ُو‬‫م‬ ‫ه‬
ُ ‫لل‬
O Allah: (please do) send blessings on
the custodian of Your
commandments,

ُ ،‫الْ َقائِِمُالْم َؤَُّم ِل‬

Dua Iftitah

The vigilant guardian, the reliable

patron,

ُ ،‫َوال َْع ْد ِلُالْم ْن تَظَ ِر‬

And the awaited justice.

ُ ،‫ني‬
َ ِ
‫ب‬‫ر‬ُ
َّ ‫ق‬
َ ‫ْم‬
‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ك‬َ ِ
‫ت‬ ‫ك‬
َ ِ
‫الئ‬ ِ
َ ‫َوح َُّفه‬
‫ُِب‬
And (please) surround him with Your
favorite Angels,

ِ ‫َوأَُيِ ْدهُبِر‬
ُِ ‫وحُالْقد‬
‫س‬
And assist him with the Holy Spirit.

ُ .‫ني‬ ِ
َ َ‫بُال َْعال‬
‫م‬ َُّ ‫ََي َر‬
O the Lord of the worlds.

ُ‫ُوالْ َقائِ َم‬، ‫ك‬ِ

‫ب‬ ‫ا‬‫ت‬ِ
‫ك‬ ُُ
‫َل‬ِ
‫إ‬ ُ‫ي‬ ِ
‫اع‬ َّ
‫ُالد‬‫ه‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ع‬ ّٰ
َ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ْ َّ َ‫ا‬
‫ُاج‬‫م‬ ‫ه‬
ُ ‫لل‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ِ
َ ‫ب‬
‫ين‬ ِ
‫د‬ ِ
Dua Iftitah

O Allah: (please) choose him to be the

caller to Your Book and the for
establisher of Your religion,

ُ‫ين‬ ِ َّ‫تُاُل‬
‫ذ‬ ‫ف‬ْ ‫ل‬
َ ‫خ‬ ‫ت‬‫اُاس‬
َ ْ َْ َ َ ْ ‫م‬ ‫ك‬ ُ‫ض‬ِ ‫ر‬َ‫أل‬ ‫ُا‬ ِ
‫ُِف‬‫ه‬ ‫ف‬
ْ ِ
‫استَ ْخل‬
َ ْ
ُ ،‫ِم ْنُقَُْبلِ ِه‬
and make him succeed in the earth as
You caused those who were before
him to succeed,

ُ ،‫ض ْي تَهُلَه‬ ‫ت‬‫يُار‬ ِ

‫ذ‬ َّ
ُ
‫ل‬ ‫ُا‬‫ه‬ ‫ين‬ ِ
‫ُد‬‫ه‬ ‫ل‬ ُ‫ن‬ ِ
َ َْ َ َ ْ ‫َم‬
ُ
‫ك‬
and establish for him his faith which
You have approved for him

ًُ‫أَبْ ِدلْه ُِم ْنُبَ ْع ِدُ َخ ْوفِ ِهُأ َْمنا‬

And give him in exchange safety after
the fear.
ِ
َ ‫يَ ْعبد َكُالُي ْش ِركُب‬
ُ .ً‫كُ َش ْيئا‬
Dua Iftitah

He serves You. He ascribes nothing as

partner to You.

ُ ،ُ ‫ُوأَ ْع ِزْزُبِ ِه‬ ِ ّٰ

َ َّ َّ َ‫ا‬
‫ه‬‫ز‬ُ ‫َع‬‫أ‬ ُ‫م‬ ‫ه‬
ُ ‫لل‬
O Allah: (please) give him power and
authority, and through him
strengthen the people,

ُ ،‫ص ْرُبِ ِه‬

ِ َ‫وانْصرهُوانْ ت‬
َ ْ َ
And give him the necessary
assistance, and through him support
the people,

ُ ،ً‫ُع ِزيزا‬
َ ً‫صرا‬
ْ َ‫َوانْص ْرهُن‬
And help him with a mighty help

ُ ،ً‫َوافْ تَ ْحُلَهُفَ ْتحاًُيَ ِسريا‬

And make him prevail over all with
easiness
Dua Iftitah

ِ َ‫كُس ْلطَاَنًُن‬
ُ .ً‫صريا‬ َ‫ل‬ ُ‫ن‬ ِ
َ ْ ْ ‫اج َع ْلُلَه‬
‫ن‬ ‫د‬ ‫ُم‬ ُْ ‫َو‬
And delegate him Your controlling
authority.
ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ّٰ
َُ ‫ُوسُنَّةَُنَبُي‬
‫ك‬ َ‫ك‬ َ َ‫اَللهُ َّمُأَظْه ْرُبهُدين‬
O Allah: (please) give currency to
Your religion and to Your Prophet’s
traditions through him

َُ‫َح ََّّتُالُيَ ْستَ ْخ ِف َيُبِ َش ْي ٍء ُِم َنُا ْْلَ ُِقُ ََمَافَة‬

ْ ‫َح ٍد ُِم َن‬
ُ .‫ُاْلَْل ِق‬ َ‫أ‬
So that nothing which is just and
genuine is kept concealed from
anyone of the human beings.
ٍ‫ُدولَ ٍةُ َك ِرميَُة‬ ِ ِ ّٰ
َّ ‫اَللهُ َّم‬
ْ َ ‫كُِف‬
َُ ‫ُإَنُنَ ْرغَبُإلَْي‬
O Allah: we ardently desire that You
confer upon us a respectful
Dua Iftitah

government

ُ ،‫ُوأ َْهلَه‬‫الم‬ ‫اُاْلس‬ ِ

‫َب‬ ُ‫ز‬
ُ ِ‫ت‬
‫ع‬
ََ ْ َ
Through which You may reactivate
Islam and stimulate its followers,

ُ ،‫ُوأ َْهلَه‬ ِ ِ ِ
َ َ َ َ ‫َوت‬
‫ق‬ ‫ا‬‫ف‬ ُ
‫اُالن‬‫َب‬ ُ‫ل‬
ُ ‫ذ‬
and humble and humiliate the
imposters and their double-dealing
shams,

ُ،‫ك‬ ِ
‫ت‬ ‫اع‬‫ط‬ ُُ
‫َل‬ ِ
‫إ‬ ُ ِ
‫اة‬ ‫ع‬ ِ ِ
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ‫َُوََتْ َعلنَاُف‬
‫ُالد‬
ُ ‫ن‬ ‫اُم‬ ‫يه‬
ُ ،‫ك‬ ِ
َ َ َ ‫اد‬
‫يل‬ ِ
‫ب‬ ‫س‬ ُُ
‫َل‬ِ‫إ‬ ُ‫ة‬ِ َ ‫َوالْ َق‬
and include us among those who
invite people to the obedience to You
and lead them to Your approved path,

ُ .‫اُو ْاْل ِخ َرُِة‬ ِ َ‫وتَ رزق ن‬

َُ َ‫اَُبَاُ َك َر َامةَُالدُنْ ي‬ َْ
and give us the good of this world and

the world to come.

ِ ِ ِ
ُ ،‫اُعَُّرفْ تَ نَاُم َنُا ْْلَ ُقُفَ َح ُم ْلنَاه‬ ّٰ
َ ‫ُم‬َ ‫اَللهُ َّم‬
O Allah: let us bear out and hold up
that which You make known to us as
the truth,

ُ .‫ُع ْنهُفَ بَ ُلِ ْغنَاه‬

َ ‫َوَماُقَص ْرََن‬
and let us be fully aware of that which
we fall short of doing.

ُ ،‫اَ ّٰللهُ َّمُالْم ْمُبِهُ َش َعثَ نَا‬

O Allah: through him, set in order our
disorder;

ُ ،‫ُص ْد َعنَا‬‫ه‬ِ ِ‫وا ْشعبُب‬

َ ْ َ َ
gather and unite our flock;

ُ ،‫َو ْارت ْقُبِ ِهُفَ ْت َقنَا‬

stitch together our ripped open

separation;

ُ ،‫َوَكُثِ ْرُبِ ِهُقُِلَّتَ نَا‬

turn our want and poverty into
enough,
ِ ‫وأَ ْع ِزْزُبِ ِه‬
ُ ،‫ُذُلَّتَ نَا‬ َ
lift us up from our degradation;

ُ ،‫ُعائِلَنَا‬ ِ ِ
َ ‫َوأَ ْغ ِنُب‬
‫ه‬
free us from our misery,

ُ ،‫ُع ْنُمغْ َرِمنَا‬ ِ

َ ‫ضُب‬
‫ه‬ ِ ِ ْ‫َواق‬
pull us out from our debts,

ُ ،ُ ‫بُبِ ِهُفَ ْق َرََن‬

ُْ ‫اج‬
ْ ‫َو‬
Set up our poverty

ُ ،‫َوس َُّدُبِ ِهُ َخُلَّتَ نَا‬

Dua Iftitah

fill the gap created by confusion

among us;

ُ ،‫س ْرُبِ ِهُع ْس َرََن‬

ُِ َ‫َوي‬
let our difficulties be easy to deal
with;

ُ ،‫وهنَا‬ ‫ج‬‫ُو‬‫ه‬ِ ِ‫ضُب‬ ِ

ْ ‫َوبَُي‬
َ
refine our substance and style,
ِ ِ‫كُب‬
ْ َُّ ‫َوف‬
ُ ،‫َس َرََن‬
‫أ‬ ُ‫ه‬
untie our ropes and straps;

ُ ،‫َْن ْحُبِ ِهُطَلِبَ تَ نَا‬

ِْ ‫َوأ‬
let our efforts succeed well and secure
success;
ِ ‫َْنزُبِ ِهُمو‬
ُ ،‫اعي َد ََن‬ ِْ ‫َوأ‬
ََ ْ
make us fulfil our promises;

ُ ،‫ُد ْع َوتَ نَا‬‫ه‬ِ ِ

َ ْ َ‫است‬
‫ب‬ ُ‫ب‬‫ج‬ِ ْ ‫َو‬
give answer to our prayers;

ُ ،‫َوأَ ْع ِطنَاُبُِِهُس ْؤلَنَا‬

listen to our requests;

ُ ،‫آمالَنَا‬ ُُ
‫ة‬ِ‫اُو ْاْل ِخر‬
ُ ‫ي‬ ‫ن‬ ‫ُالد‬
ُ ‫ن‬ ِ
‫ُم‬‫ه‬ِ ِ
‫ب‬ ُ‫ا‬ ِ
َْ ‫َوبَُل‬
‫ن‬‫غ‬
َ َ َ َْ َ
cause us to obtain the good of this
world and the Hereafter;

ُ ،‫ُر ْغبَتِنَا‬ ِ ِ ِ
َ َ ْ َ َ ‫َوأَ ْع‬
‫ق‬ ‫و‬ ‫ُف‬‫ه‬ ‫ب‬ ُ‫ا‬‫ن‬‫ط‬
give us much and more than our
expectations

ُ ،‫ني‬‫ط‬ِ ‫ُوأَوسعُالْمع‬،‫َيُ َخ ْريُالْمس ُؤولِني‬

َ ْ َََْ َ ْ َ َ َ
O the Best of givers and bestowers;

ُ ،‫ورََن‬ ‫د‬ ‫ُص‬‫ه‬ِ ِ‫فُب‬

ِ ‫ا ْش‬
َ

and cleanse our hearts,

َ ‫بُبِ ِهُغَْي‬
ُ ،‫ظُق لوبِنَا‬ ‫ه‬ِ ‫وأَ ْذ‬
ْ َ
unburden our emotions from hate and
anger,

ُ ،‫ك‬
َ ِ
‫ن‬ ‫ذ‬
ْ ِ
‫ِب‬ ُُ
‫ق‬ِ ‫ْل‬
ْ ‫ُا‬‫ن‬ ِ
‫ُم‬ ِ
‫يه‬ ِ
‫ُف‬ ‫ف‬ ِ ِ
َ ْ َ َ ‫َو ْاه‬
‫ل‬ ‫ت‬‫خ‬ ‫اُا‬‫م‬‫ُل‬‫ه‬ِ ِ
‫ب‬ ُ‫َن‬ ِ
‫د‬
َ َ
and in the event of dispute in the
matter of truth show us the right path,
ٍ ‫صر‬
ُ ،‫اطُم ْستَ ِق ٍيم‬ ِ ُ‫َل‬
َُ ِ‫يُم ْنُتَ َشاءُإ‬ ِ ْ‫كُ ََت‬
‫د‬ ُ َّ
َ ‫إ‬‫ن‬ ِ
َ َ
verily You guides whosoever You wills
to the Right Path.

ُ‫ُو َعد ُِوََن‬‫ك‬َ ِ

‫و‬
ُ ‫د‬ ‫ىُع‬ ِ ِ
َ َ ‫َوانْص ْرََنُب‬
َ‫ل‬‫ُع‬‫ه‬
َ
Let us, through him, get the better of
Your enemies and our opponents,

ُ .‫ني‬ ِ ُ‫إِ ّٰل ُهُا ْْل ُِق‬

‫آم‬
َ َ َ
O the true God: Be it so!

َّ ‫اَللهُ َّم‬
َُ ‫ُإَنُنَ ْشكوُإلَْي‬
‫ك‬
O Allah: we complain to You

ُ ،‫ُوآلِ ِه‬
َ ‫ه‬ِ ‫ُعلَي‬
ْ َ ‫ك‬َ ‫ات‬‫و‬َ ‫ل‬
َ ‫اُص‬
َ َ‫ن‬ُِ
‫ي‬ِ
‫ب‬َ‫ن‬ ُ‫د‬َ ‫ق‬
ْ ‫ف‬
َ
About the departure of our Prophet —
Your blessings be on him and on his
Household—

ُ ،‫ُولُِيِنَا‬
َ َ‫َوغَْي بَة‬
And about the absence of our leader,

ُ ،‫ُعد ُِوََن‬
َ ‫َوَكثْ َرَة‬
And about the big numbers of our
enemies,

ُ ،‫ُع َد ِد ََن‬ َّ
َ َ ‫َوق‬
‫ة‬ ُ
‫ل‬ ِ
And about our few number,
ِ َ ‫َُو ِش َُّد َةُال ِْف‬
ُ ،‫َتُبِنَا‬
Dua Iftitah

And about widespread disorder,

ُ ،‫ُعلَْي نَا‬ ِ
َ ‫ُالزَم‬
‫ان‬ َُّ ‫َوتَظَاه َر‬
and about vicissitudes of time against
us.

ُ ،ُ ‫ُعلَىَُم َّم ٍُدُ َوآلِ ِه‬

َ ‫ص ِل‬
َ َ‫ف‬
So, (please do) send blessings on
Muhammad and on his Househod

ُِ ‫كُت َع‬
ُ ،‫جله‬ ‫ن‬ ِ
‫ُم‬ ‫ح‬ ‫ت‬ُ
‫ف‬ ِ
‫ب‬ ُ‫ك‬ِ
‫ىُذل‬ ‫ل‬‫َّاُع‬ ِ
َ ْ ٍ َْ َ َ َ ‫َوأ‬
‫ن‬ ‫َع‬
And help us overcome all that through
victory from You that You expedite

ُ ،ُ ‫َوبِض ٍُرُتَ ْك ِشفه‬

And through relieving us from our
injuries

ُ ،‫ص ٍرُت ِعُزه‬

ْ َ‫َون‬
And through Your help that You
Dua Iftitah

confirm

ُ ،ُ ‫ُح ٍُقُتظْ ِهره‬ ِ َ‫وس ْلط‬

‫ان‬
َ َ
And through bringing in the rule of
justice and fairplay,

ُ ،‫اها‬ ِ ِ ٍ
َ َ َ َ ْ َ‫َوَر ِْح‬
‫ن‬ ‫ل‬ُ
‫ل‬ ‫َُت‬‫ك‬ ‫ن‬‫ُم‬ ‫ة‬
And through mercy that You expand
over us

ُ ،‫اها‬‫ن‬‫س‬ِ‫ب‬‫ل‬ْ ‫ُت‬‫ك‬ ِ ٍ
َ ْ َ ‫َو َع‬
‫ن‬ ‫ُم‬‫ة‬ ‫ي‬ ِ
‫اف‬
ََ
And through good health that You
cover us with,

ُ .‫ني‬ ِ
‫اِح‬ِ ‫ُالر‬
َّ ‫م‬ ‫ح‬ ‫َر‬‫أ‬ ُ‫َُي‬‫ك‬َ ِ
‫ت‬ ‫ِح‬
ْ ‫ر‬ ِ
‫ب‬
َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ
Out of Your mercy, O the most
Merciful of all those who show mercy.
