Traditional house

My name is Sérgio and I’m from Portugal. I’ve decided to write about Aldeias do
Xisto because I’ve been interested in them.
In Aldeias do Xisto, the weather is warm in the summer and cool in the winter. There
are often rainfalls and seldom snowy days, especially throughout the winter. It’s
moisty during most of the year. This year, there have been many windy and rainy days.
Schist homes are practical in Aldeias do Xisto because they are made of a sturdy rock
called schist. The schist keeps a cozy temperature inside the house and it’s safe if
there’s a landslide. The floor is made of wood, the walls are made of schist and the
roof is made of brick. They were built like this with the aim of sturdiness and
comfortability in the house.
Nowadays, some schist homes have electricity. Some people have installed solar
panels with the aim of getting energy. I would like to have an experience roaming
around the schist homes. However, I wouldn’t like to live in one once they are
secluded and don’t have many facilities.
