THEATER
o Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of performing
art that uses live performers, usually actors or
actresses, to present the experience of a real or
imagined event before a live audience in a specific
place, often a stage.

KABUKI
o is believed to derive from
the verb kabuku, meaning
"to lean" or "to be out of
ordinary, " kabuki can be
"bizarre" theater.
KABUKI o is a form of traditional Japanese
drama with highly stylized song,
mime and dance.
o it is known for the stylization of
its drama and for the elaborate
make up worn by some of its
performers.

KULIT
o is one of the oldest of the
WAYANG KULIT oldest continuous tradition
of storytelling in the world
which includes the use of
puppet materials and
backgrounds, musical
accompaniment to make it
interesting to the audience.
WAYANG KULIT o “Wayang” is an Indonesian
and Malay word for theater

o “Kulit” means skin and refers


to the leather construction of
the puppets that are carefully
chiseled with very fine tools
and supported with carefully
shaped buffalo horn handles
and control rods.
The Performance
Audience - is the most important person in a Wayang Kulit performance.

- Is the puppeteer
Dalang - prepares all the materials used like the cloth and the light

- are projected by the lamp on a white screen.


Puppet - on the right side signifies the good character, on the left hand
side is the bad
- space between them, about 2 meters wide , represents the
Open Space stage.
