I don’t think so. The rich people may think that they are
happier because they can enjoy expensive hobbies like
travelling, luxurious food, etc. However, happiness can be
found in small things as well. The poor ones enjoy and

Lesson 33
Lying
76
Story
I lied to my mom today. I told her that I got a good
score in the exam. I did it so she will feel proud of
me. She might not like it if I told her my real score.
I think there must be some cases when it’s okay to
lie. In my case, I think there is nothing more
important than my mom’s feelings. But according to
my friend, a lie is still a lie and honesty is always the
best policy. I felt sorry for lying. I promised to
myself that I will tell my mom the truth and try not
to do it again.

Lesson 34
My Friends
78
Story
I cannot imagine life without friends. It’s no fun if
we do things just by ourselves. Solving problems
will be much easier if we have someone who can
help us. It will be more entertaining to watch a
movie or a favorite TV program with them. We can
also share our secrets and talk about our worries.
And I think the best part of having friends is that
the good times becomes more enjoyable and bad
times becomes more bearable.

must work hard with my studies. They want to
make sure that I learn a lot and get good grades.
