Content
Learning Outcomes [ASSURE (State Objectives)]
 Children will match the objects with numbers when they review activity demonstrations
with 100 percent accuracy.
 Children will discuss why a specific set of objects matches a number when they use visual
number cards.
Instructional Materials & Media [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and Materials)]
Flashcards by using Chegg. The reason for using this material is to provide children with various
visuals. They can see the pictures, and with the given tasks, they can engage hands-on and develop
one-to-one correspondence.
Cards, dice, food tiles.
Learning-Teaching Methods [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and Materials)]
Visual, auditory and logical learning types are emphasised in this lesson plan. The teaching methods
used are games, discussions and problem-based learning that are student-centred. The aim is to
make children active and provide a better learning environment.

Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and Require Learner
Participation)]
The teacher prepares and makes sure that there is a smartboard. If not, she uses a computer. The
Chegg cards are prepared to be seen from the board.
Individual Learning Activities Children examine the cards and put
corresponding tiles on the individual paper.

Group Learning Activities Children will pair as two and roll the dice by
taking turns. They will collect tiles according to
the number on the dice. They will compare the
numbers and decide who has the most.

Summary
In this activity, children will learn about pairing objects with numbers.
Measurement & Evaluation
As an assessment, children will try to take marbles according to the numbers they see on the
flashcards. These flashcards are created with the Chegg app. After, the teacher will ask some
assessment questions to understand children’s reasoning and explanations of math.
Measurement & Assessment Activities for Flashcards
Individual Performance
Measurement & Assessment Activities for Discussion of the group work and reasoning
Group Performance Asking questions about the process and the topic
Homework (optional) Children are given a parent involvement assessment
form they will fill out with their parents. In this form,
they answer some questions related to the topic.
Explanation
-
Explanation regarding the implementation of the plan
Children will examine posters and number cards with animals and count them. They will
individually match the food tiles with each animal picture on the cards. In the end, they will
work as groups and use dice. They will discuss the dots on the dice and count them.
According to the dot number on the dice, they will take tiles and match them. They will
compare the amount with their pair and decide who has the most.

1. The teacher brainstorms what is more suitable to use with the topic and what are the
technological options. She searches more about flashcards and learns the Chegg app. Since
it is an easy app to use, the process proceeds faster.
2. She prepares cards beforehand and tries to see whether they work and are suitable for
children.
3. The teacher prepares the classroom to provide a better learning environment for children.
She adds some math materials to the computer. She draws children’s attention to the topic
in this way.
4. The teacher states the objectives and assesses the children’s prior knowledge through her
observations and questions. According to their knowledge and interest, she arranges the
lesson details.
5. She decided to use student-centred techniques and involve them in the plan to make
children more active and make real-life connections.

 Since the activity has printed cards, children can easily use them. If I do not find any
materials, I would do an outdoor walk with children and collect natural elements such as
rocks, branches and leaves. I would use them in the activity.
 If I cannot use the online flashcards, I would draw the pictures or print the flashcards
beforehand.
 For the parent involvement, I would text or give the questions written to give children
homework.
