Gen Z's contributions to gender rights

As we saw in the previous section, gender roles underwent a considerable transformation over time. And
it can be said that the youth of the current generation have had the greatest influence on this field. So, in
the concluding section, I will elucidate some of their noticeable involvements and campaigns not only in
Vietnam but also around the world.

To begin with, the young have supported gender equality in a variety of ways.

+ First and foremost, they are less pro-patriarchal. To be more specific, a patriarchal society is one in
which men predominate and are typically in positions of leadership or home headship. Glocalities'
research shows that Gen Z is less supportive of this paradigm than prior generations are (34% of Gen Z
disagree with the father being the head of the home compared to 30% of older generations), and this
dissatisfaction is growing by 6% since 2014.

+ Additionally, the youth in this generation are passionately eradicating prejudices about fashion for
both genders. To clarify, many individuals once asserted that guys should dress masculinely and that
ladies should wear clothing that reflects their femininity, such as dresses. Nevertheless, Gen Z's
perspectives on social advancement and gender are changing conventional beauty standards to allow
different genders to dress however they prefer and to manufacture more clothing that is gender-
neutral.
