Culture

What is culture? Culture is a system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts
that the members of society use to cope with their world and with one another and that are transmitted
from generation to generation. Culture is learned, culture is shared, culture is symbolic, culture is all-
encompassing, and culture is integrated.

Culture is essentially the arts and other expressions of human intellectual progress as a whole.
Everyone possesses culture; it is the traditions and customs that control behavior and beliefs through
learning. Culture is learned because we all learned it, and if it is not learned, it is not culture. Culture is
shared because it is passed down from generation to generation. Culture is symbolic because various
cultures have distinct ways of expressing or displaying their sentiments or something similar. Culture is
all-encompassing because it is a common system of meaning and a learned process that encompasses
everyone in society. We all have various cultures, and we must know how to adapt and appreciate other
cultures when we encounter them.

Despite the fact that the video is relatively short, it contains almost all of the important
information about culture that we should all be aware of. I honestly believe that the film helped me to
learn more about culture since it included several examples that helped me grasp what culture is. As
shown in the video, culture is an important aspect of our lives; we all do what our culture tells us to do
or believe what our culture tells us to believe without ever realizing it. Since then, we've learned our
culture as well as the cultures of others around us, we've shared our culture with others, and we've
demonstrated our culture to others. I believe that culture is something that we all have and should
appreciate since it has shaped who we are today. We should all be eternally grateful that we have what
we call culture.
