Educational Importance

Higher education helps us as a community understand and relate to people who might share

many indifferences. It equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking

abilities necessary to tackle the complex challenges of the modern world. In the mist of

everything, going to college or pursuing higher education becomes the key that unlocks a

healthier and more prosperous future. Which is why obtaining a college or higher education is

vital to the health of our society because it promotes social mobility, fosters critical thinking and

innovation, and contributes to the overall well-being and progress of individuals and

communities.

Having access to college or higher-level education is important because it helps people move up

in society and put themselves in a better position for themselves. Taking upon the so-called

‘grueling’ four years of dedication gives these individuals the chance to learn valuable skills and

the knowledge they need to help them overcome obstacles that’ll occur in their lives. Murray

stated in his essay that, "Even Ph.D.'s don't require four years of course work. The Ph.D. is

supposed to signify expertise, but that expertise comes from burrowing deep into a specialty, not

from dozens of courses” (Murray 513). But contrary to Murray’s beliefs, coursework is essential

to building a strong knowledge foundation and develop critical thinking skills. Courses expose
students to many different theories, ideas, and methods along the way. Giving them different

perspectives and allowing them to better understand their specified field more.

Higher education also plays a big role with how students mature and go about their lives. It plays

a crucial role in personal development, providing opportunities for self-discovery and

exploration. Education at the high level broadens individuals’ perspectives, awareness of culture

around them, social, and global as well. Many students will end up fostering a deep

understanding of the world and gives them a more prone sense of empathy and tolerance

amongst others. These students even go on to create healthy behaviors as they figure out how to

deal and sort through their problems throughout school. By investing into a higher education, we

not only enhance the well-being and progress of individuals but also develop stronger and more

resilient communities amongst our world around us.

Pursuing these rigorous academic goals, education equips students with skills needed to adapt

with their ever-changing enviroments as the job market and many industries advance themselves.

Students tend to adapt to pick up abilities such as, thinking critically to situations, analyzing

information, and evaluating arguments from different perspectives. Therefore, leading to a

community that feeds creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. Many of these students come out

into the real world producing groundbreaking discoveries and societal advancements, ultimately

contributing to our society as a whole and further developing our future.

Furthermore, this pursuit of education plays an impactful role in society by equipping many with

the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary to tackle the complex challenges of

the modern world. By investing into this idea, it can empower students to go above and beyond

to make a better future for themselves. Collectively collaborating to create a better future for our
communities. Through higher education we can build a better society than enriches themselves

through knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and better innovation
