The general concept is that an aircraft fuel system enables fuel to be loaded, stored, managed and

delivered to the propulsion system of an aircraft as displayed in the block diagram.

Many of you are engineers and are already familiar with the component of the fuel system generally
present.

As important as it seems, the same is susceptible to cause accidents. Hence leading me to deliver the
presentation on the topic of investigation of such system.

Respectable instructors and fellow course participants. Asalamualikum, I am F/L Ameem from QA
Sqn, PAF Base Murid. And I will discussing upon the fuel system investigation.

The sequence of the presentation is as flashed.

There are basically two types of fuel refueling mechanisms. One is …. And the other is …..

The Hazard involved incase of the first one method are as stated leading to the risk of water
contamination.

The possible hazard in the second case is …..leading to the risk of fire hazard.

Then we have vent issues which involves blockage and accumulation of ice. And blockage may lead
to the stated hazards.

Then we have filters for the prevention against contaminants and accumulation of the same is itself
a hazard.

The function of the pump is to transfer the fuel towards the engine. The technical issues that might
be faced are the engine flame out and cavitation.

Following are the functions of the fuel metering system and malfunctioning of the same can lead to
the following abnormalities.

The fuel quantity and location of the fuel speak themselves in the investigation process. The fire
pattern may give the indications for trapped fuel. Ensure the correct selection of the fuel tank.
Acquire information from the gauges if not completely damaged. At times the faulty transmitter may
give false alarms.

Another aspect is misfuelling. Here we can see an example of the occurrence as a result of
misfuelling.

Following needs to be checked and considered in fuel transfer system.

Such a failure can be suspected incase of massive fire. Blladers may fail when they become brittle
and vent failures may also lead to such failures

Following are the considerations for fuel lines.

I thankyou all for the patient listening and now the house is open for fresh questions and answer
session.
