WHERE ARE THE POINTS?
You will be a doctor working at F2 level
“You are an F2 working overnight, when you get a
Clinical call from the nurse on the orthopaedic ward. She has
asked if you would see a 75‐year‐old lady who
underwent a right hemiarthroplasty 3 hours ago for a
Scenario NOF fracture and who is now tachycardic and
hypotensive. How do you approach this situation?”
• I would ask the nurse to be at the bedside and perform a full set of
observations whilst I immediately make my way to the ward
• On my arrival I would introduce myself and perform an A‐E assessment
• A‐E assessment
