INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1. This question paper consists of one (1) question.

2. Answer the question in the Schedule papers and the Billing papers.
3. Measurement of works shall be based on the principles laid down in the Malaysian
Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works (2nd Edition) (SMM2). Marks are
given based on the correct principles of measurement, detail description, principles of
construction and accuracy in measurement.
4. Make assumptions when detail and/or specifications are not provided or unclear. All
assumptions must be clearly stated.
5. Write your student ID, course code and course name in the upper left corner of the answer
sheet. Each answer sheet must have a page number.
6. Please check to make sure that this assessment pack consists of:
i) the Question Paper
ii) a-six-pages Appendix (Drawing No: PUB/DQS251/1-6)
7. Upon completion, scan all answer sheets and convert into a single pdf format file and
submit to the respective lecturer using one of the following platforms: u-Future, Google
Classroom, email, or WhatsApp.
8. Time allocated for the final assessment is 3 hours. However, you will be given an extra 30
minutes before the final assessment starts and another 30 minutes after the final
assessment ends to allow ample time for submission. If you are experiencing difficulties to
submit on time due to internet or technical problems, please contact the lecturer directly
BEFORE the assessment ends.

QUESTION 1

The accompanied drawings No. PUB/DQS251/1-6 show the proposed project of Cadangan
Membina dan Menyiapkan Blok Wanita dan Kanak-kanak Hospital Seri Iskandar, Di Atas
Sebahagian Lot 251, Bandar Baru Seri Iskandar, Perak Darul Ridzuan. The drawings are part
of the contract based on Bills of Quantities

Based on the drawings given in Appendix 1:

a) Take off quantities for all preformed prestressed concrete piles / spun piles by using piling
schedule.

b) Prepare Bills of Quantities for the 500mm diameter preformed prestressed concrete piles /
spun piles only by using billing paper.

You are advised to read the specification notes in the drawings before proceeding with your
taking-off.
