The Philippine West Sea exist with the abundance in marine resources such as fish, coral reefs, and even
minerals resources and oil. The Western Philippine Sea is wealthy on natural resources and contributes a
lot in fisheries production that help Filipinos on their livelihood.

The dispute between China and Philippine West Sea became one of the biggest issue in the country. This
dispute has affected the Filipinos. Many Filipinos depend a lot on the Philippine West Sea, the vast
resources benefits the Filipino fish folks a lot, however the constant appearing of Chinese vessels made
the Filipinos have a hard time to continue their livelihood. According to the Western Command of the
Armed Forces of the Philippines, they had confirmed that there are swarming Chinese Vessels in the Sea.
The swarming happened some two weeks after the Philippines filed a diplomatic protest on the incident
involving the debris. The safety of the fishermen are being threatened, because of the harassment of the
Chinese vessels. This conflict caused the Filipinos to limit their fishing trip to the sea causing their catch
to decrease The intensified harassment of the presence of the Chinese vessels caused the fishermen to
loose a lot of their income per fishing trip, and this might cause the fishing industry in the Philippines to
collapse. This shows how much this dispute had affected the lives and livelihood of Filipinos.
