A REASON TO CELEBRATE
Acts 13:26-33
INTRODUCTION: The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news! The angel
announced the good news of His birth to the shepherds. "Fear not; for, behold I
bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is
born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." After the
shepherds had seen the babe lying in a manger, they returned to their flocks
"glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it
was told unto them." The angel announced to the women that Easter morning:
"He is not here; for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord
lay." The Bible states that the women "departed quickly from the sepulcher with
fear and great joy, and did run to bring his disciples word." Jesus is risen indeed!
Believers have every reason to celebrate and the sinner has every reason to fear.
Every person will be raised from the dead. Some "unto the resurrection of life"
while others "unto the resurrection of damnation." (John 5:28-29)
