REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
How do the values exemplified by the stories affect our actions as Filipino citizens?
Student’s Answer:

Upon watching the video and researching about the different stories in the module, I learned a lot of
principles and values. Each tale imparts a particular lesson that we can use in our daily lives. As Filipino
citizens, we are gifted with a variety of values that have been handed down from generation to generation
up to the present.

The first story that I read is “The House of Life”. Upon reading the summary of the story, I was able to
understand that patience, humility, and respect for others is important. Respect is one of the values that
every Filipino should practice. To earn respect, we must also learn to respect others. We should reflect
everyone because we all have our own rights and we should respect that. "The Truth about Lies" is the
next story I read. I learned from this story how important the truth is to society. The truth will always
prevail in the end. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the Philippines' current situation. The truth does
not always present itself. In Philippine politics, the truth is subject to monopolization or controlled by one
individual. Nevertheless, we Filipinos must constantly tell, defend, and seek the truth.

There are a lot of values that we can learn from the stories that can affect our actions as Filipino citizens.
The values shown in the stories can help develop ourselves in becoming a better person. Filipinos can
reflect and learn how to live out these principles by reading these stories.
