Naturalistic intelligence: People possessing this

intelligence are drawn to the natural environment.
These individuals try to recognize and discriminate
between flora and fauna and other entities found in
nature. They may enjoy the company of animals
and be sensitive to the natural phenomenon such as
the clouds, mountains, earthquakes, volcanoes.
They like observing living organisms and recognizing
their characteristics. Hence, they may be interested
in subjects such as botany and zoology. They are
good at categorizing and cataloging information
easily. They may enjoy camping, gardening, hiking,
and exploring the outdoors. Such people can
choose to be naturalists, gardeners, farmers and
biologists.
9. Existential intelligence: Being able to ask deep
and critical questions about the broader human
experience. Such people understand others and the
world around them and are typically able to see the
big picture. They are able to make connections
between what is being learned and the world
outside. They are able to view a topic from a
different point of views and ask questions such as-
What is the purpose of life? Why I am here?
6. Educational Implications of Gardner’s theorem
1. According to Gardner, the implication of the
theory is that learning/teaching should focus on
the particular intelligences of each person. For
example, if an individual has strong spatial or
musical intelligences, they should be
encouraged to develop these abilities. Gardner
points out that the different intelligences
represent not only different content domains
but also learning modalities. Thus, students
must not be assessed identically because
people may have different types of
intelligences.
2. Technology can be used in the modern age to
assess the different types of intelligence
present in individuals.
3. The teacher can make different groups on the
basis of intelligence so that students belonging
to each group can develop their talents even
further in that specified area.
4. The teacher can give career counselling to
students by assessing their various intelligences
and providing suggestions as per their interests.
Thus, the teacher should identify of various
kinds of intelligences in the students and guide
them accordingly so that they can follow the
right path.
5. Teachers should be trained enough to bring
variety in their teaching methods. This can help
in developing the intelligences in the students.
A wide variety of approaches and activities
must be used for learning so that learners can
think in different ways.
