Software License Agreement
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE USE.
When you agree to comply with this Software License Agreement, you may use the These
Mitutoyo software product named QUICKTOOL.
Make sure you read all of the terms and conditions of this Software License Agreement
carefully before installing or using the software product that is distributed with this Agreement.
------------------ SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT for QUICKTOOL ----------------------
Mitutoyo Corporation grants to you a non-transferable and non-exclusive license to use of this software
program(s), program disk(s), dongle(s) and manual(s) distributed with this Software License
Agreement (collectively, hereinafter referred to as the “Software Product”), under the following terms
and conditions.
1. License
Mitutoyo Corporation distributes this Software Product free of charge as part of the user service.
You are granted to use the Software Product, when you agree to comply with all of the terms of this
Software License Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “License Agreement”.
Installation or use of the Software Product constitutes your acceptance of all of the terms of
this License Agreement and your agreement to be bound by and become a party to this License
Agreement. If you do not agree with all the terms of this License Agreement, you may not use
the Software Product.
This license hereunder allows you to use the software and install on any computer, provided that you
may use the Software in order to apply it only to the Mitutoyo products.
Mitutoyo Corporation may immediately terminate this License Agreement, if you fail to comply with any
of terms of this License Agreement. In such a case, you must not use any of the Software Product and
must return all of the Software Product to Mitutoyo Corporation, and must destroy all copies of the
Software Product.
The Software Product is licensed, not given, to you for use only under the terms of this License
Agreement. You have no right to the Software Product except as expressly granted in this License
Agreement. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by Mitutoyo Corporation.

2. Copy restrictions
Except as expressly granted under this License Agreement, you may not copy any of the Software
Product.
You may not assign, rent, lease, sublicense, lend, distribute or otherwise transfer this License
Agreement, the rights granted under this License Agreement, the Software Product, or other items
contained in this software package, to a third party without the prior written consent of Mitutoyo
Corporation.
You may make copy of this Software Product to use only for you. You should make a complete copy
consisting of all of the Software Product files, including this document file.
You may not reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile or modify the Software Product in whole or in
part.
3. Limited warranty
You assume all responsibility for all results arising out of your selecting, purchasing, installing or using
the Software Product in order to achieve your intended results.
4. Disclaimer
The Software Product is provided “As Is” and without any warranties of any kind, either expressed or
implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose.
In no event shall Mitutoyo Corporation be liable to you, any person or any entity for any direct, indirect,
incidental, special or consequential damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for
loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary
loss) arising of the use of or inability to use the Software Product, however caused, regardless of the
theory of liability (contract, tort or otherwise) and even if Mitutoyo Corporation has been advised of the
possibility of such damages.
This License Agreement shall be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan,
without regard to conflicts of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the
courts in Tokyo in Japan with respect to any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of, relating to or in
connection with this License Agreement or the use of or inability to use the Software Product.

Export Control Compliance
This Product falls into the Catch-All-Controlled Goods and/or Catch-All-Controlled Technologies
(including Programs) under Category 16 of Appended Table 1 of Export Trade Control Order or
under Category 16 of Appended Table of Foreign Exchange Control Order, based on Foreign
Exchange and Foreign Trade Law of Japan.
If you intend re-exporting the product from a country other than Japan, re-selling the product in a
country other than Japan, or re-providing the technology (including program), you shall observe
the regulations of your country.

1 Installing the Application
Product ID No. 530765
Place the CD-ROM that contains this application in the CD-ROM drive. Application setup will start
automatically. Read the messages that appear in the Setup wizard and observe the instructions.
If the setup does not start, run the setup.exe file on the CD-ROM.
However, if an old version of the application has been installed, be sure to uninstall it according to "6.
Uninstalling the Application" before starting the setup.
(1) Upon starting the application the system will communicate with the display unit to load the settings.
When the system has loaded the settings, the Basic Setup window opens. However, if the
application is started for the first time, the system requires entry of the Product ID. Enter the ID
number.
(2) After the settings have been loaded, it is recommended that the settings be saved as a file. Select
the [File / Save setting file As...] menu to open the Save window. Also, the system can read the
settings that have been saved by selecting the [File / Open setting file...] menu.
(3) CAUTION
If the settings of different display and measuring unit models are loaded, the system will
malfunction. If the settings of an incorrect model are selected, restart the application.
(4) If the settings of the display unit cannot be loaded, the Model Setup window is displayed. If this is
the case, replace the contents of [Tool / Communication Property] in the application with those of
the "RS-232C" basic settings in the display unit. When the setting of [Communication Property]
has been completed, close the application, and then restart it.

3 Basic Setup Window
(1) In the Basic Setup window select the workpiece type and the segment setup type. For dual
measuring unit connection select either the DW type, DF type, or DXY type. If any setting in the
Basic Setup window is changed, the system restarts the display unit after sending the changed
setting. Also, depending on the change the system may clear the calibration (CAL) and Preset
settings.
(2) If using a special function such as the abnormal data elimination function, select the [Setup /
Detail Setup] menu to open the Basic Setup (Detail) window for setting the function. If a basic
setting is changed, the system restarts the display unit after sending the changed setting. Also,
depending on the change the system may clear the calibration (CAL) and offset settings.
(3) Click on the [Next] button in the Basic Setup window to open the Function Setup window.
(1) In the Function Setup window you can select measuring conditions by their icons. To set the
GO/NG function, etc., click on the [Detailed Setup] button to open the Detailed Setup window,
then set the functions. In the 6000 type you can change program numbers and store multiple
settings.
(2) Select the [File / Save setting file As...] menu to open the Save window. With this window you can
save the settings.
(3) When the [Send Setup] button is clicked on the system sends the settings to the display unit. If a
basic setting has been changed, the system restarts the display unit. Wait for a short period.
When the [Send Setup] command has been completed, the Measurement window opens.

5 Measurement Window
(1) Click on the [RUN] button or [C.RUN] button to display the measured results, which are read from
the display unit, as a record or a graph. To read the continuous measurement results, set the
"Data output condition" to "3" beforehand with the [Detail Setup] button in the Function Setup
window. (If the "Data output condition" is set to "0", the measured results will not be read.)
(2) Click on the [CAL/P.SET] button to perform calibration and preset setup.
(3) Select the [File / Clear measured result] menu to clear the stored data.
(4) Statistical processing has been selected in the Measurement window. The measured results
obtained by operating the [RUN] button or [C.RUN] button are statistically processed. Click on the
[STAT] button to read the statistical processing results.
(5) Click on the [STAT] button or select the [File / Clear measured result] menu to clear the statistical
memory.
(6) Select the [File / Save measured result As] menu to save the recorded data as a file (CSV format
file).
(1) Select the [Control Panel] menus to open the control panel. Double-click on the [Add/Remove
Programs] icon.
(2) Select the old version of the application from the [Install/Uninstall] list box, then click on the
[Add/Remove] button.
(3) A message to confirm the deletion is displayed. Click on the [Yes] button.
