Philosophy of Education

Teaching is an important and rewarding career that I have wanted to be a part of for as

long as I could remember. Early childhood education serves a big role in the lives of children

because it is the foundation for future learning and skills. I cannot think of a better way to utilize

my natural and learned skills.

Teachers wear many hats aside from just facilitating learning for their students. A teacher

at times is a therapist, role model, and activist. A great teacher provides a listening ear to any

student that needs it, models what a responsible adult looks like for the students that do not have

one in their lives, and fights for the rights and equal learning opportunities for their students.

Children learn mostly through self-lead activities and play. A teacher should be more of a

facilitator as well as model behaviors and activities for their students rather than just lecturing.

Every student learns differently, and educators should always try to include activities that will

incorporate different learning styles. Teachers should also be sensitive to cultural and economic

differences that impact the community. A student should never be made to feel embarrassed

because they do not have a backpack, and I have seen amazing teachers provide a backpack to

struggling students.

It is my mission to make a difference in my community. I want to not only lay a solid

foundation for my student's education but also be a positive and safe person in their lives.

Children learn best when they feel safe and cared for, and I want them to remember me as a safe

and caring teacher.
