Of MALLEMADUGU RESERVOIR
PREAMBLE:
The Mallemadugu Reservoir is a medium irrigation project which was constructed during
the years 1954-59 across the Rallakaluva & Konakaluva streams which are tributaries of
Swarnamukhi River at Karakambadi (V) in Renigunta Mandal of Tirupati District. This project
was constructed for irrigation purpose only to irrigate an ayacut of 3,950 Acres through feeding
to 15 Nos. of system tanks using 3 Nos. of Sluices in Renigunta and Yerpedu Mandals of
Tirupati district with a storage capacity of 0.181 TMC. This Reservoir is having 326 Sq. Km. of
Self Catchment in Seshachalam hills. The Designed discharge for this reservoir is 90,000
Cusecs (2,548 Cumecs) with 47 Nos. of Syphon Spillways and also 17 Nos. of Vertical Gates.
