Africa

Africa is a continent heavily affected by outbreaks of

diseases that often wreak havoc on its population.
In Africa, especially in the poorest areas, the chances of
contracting a viral or infectious disease are very high.
Most diseases are related to

● Malnutrition: the lack of access to a balanced and

timely diet weakens the immune system of a large part
of the population. According to the WHO, this results in
the sudden and systematic appearance of dangerous
diseases.
● Few health facilities: the African population has
limited access to health facilities and health care
services. In this way, diseases spread faster and with
more lethal effects.

Ebola
The largest Ebola outbreak in history occurred in West
Africa between 2014-2016. This outbreak involved over
28,000 cases and resulted in over 11,000 deaths,
primarily in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Other
outbreaks of Ebola have occurred in different parts of
Africa as well.
