ABOUT BALAGHAT
Balaghat is a District Headquarter located at south-east
corner of Madhya Pradesh State which shares border with
Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Balaghat is endowed with
natural resources like Manganese, Copper, Aluminium.
Kanha National Park, one of the tiger reserves of India
which is very famous for wildlife adventure and tourism, is
just 82 km away from Balaghat. Balaghat is well connected
by roads from all nearby major cities like Bhopal, Nagpur,
Jabalpur, Raipur, Chhindwara etc. Trains connectivity are
available from Gondia (41km), Nagpur (171km) and
Jabalpur (200km).
ABOUT THE NIRM
National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) is an
autonomous Institute under Ministry of Mines, Government
of India. The Institute has been developed as a Centre of
Excellence for Rock Engineering. Over the period of last 35
years, the institute has provided its expertise to various
central, state government agencies and public sector
undertakings in the field of mining, hydroelectric projects,
nuclear power projects, oil and gas sectors and various
infrastructure projects including rail, road, airports, hospital
etc. The high-quality services provided by NIRM have found
wide acceptance in the industry. With modern equipment
and a coherent team of experienced and dedicated scientists,
NIRM combines research activities and consulting services to
provide solutions for a wide range of rock engineering
problems.
