protocol, mobility in IP-based networks, MANETS and MESH networks and
protocols to support IP mobility.

21306 2 Internet Protocols and Basic Functionality and advances of the TCP. Fundamentals in transferring Audio
Applications and Video streams over IP networks. Functionality of streaming protocols such as
RTP/RTCP. Functionality and behavior of the layer 7 protocols such as FTP, HTTP,
H.323 and SIP. Basics in DVB and IPTV. (Includes a programming project)

21354 2 Project Management Basics of project management, e.g. definitions based on PM standards, goal and
objectives definition, project structuring, scheduling. Includes also topics such as
project start and end, resource planning, reporting and current developments in
PM.

31300 Master Thesis 6 months of independent applied research work either carried out in a lab or in a
competence center of the THM, in company or research institute. Thesis work
including a seminar parallel to thesis, supervised by a THM Professor. Submission
of written thesis and defense.

Communications of C-Code into the SIMULINK environment. Analysis of communication systems
with MATLAB SIMULINK. Debugging of communication systems. Solving of
problems with the aid of Stateflow. Integration of Stateflow modules into MATLAB
SIMULINK.

22319 2 Project work Applied research project on a given topic in the field of Information and
Communications Engineering, carried out in a lab or a competence center of the
THM.

22320 2 Internship Internship (1 to 3 months) in a company or research institute. Engineering work


supervised by a THM-Professor. Report and presentation.

22321 2 Biometric Systems Introduction to biometric identification methods Algorithms and image. Processing
Application of a specific biometric identification method e.g. face recognition or iris
Development recognition sensorics, optics and embedded systems. Research about already
existing patents. Fake Resistance of biometric identification systems. Usability test
of apparatus or system
