AFFIDAVIT COMPLAINT
1. I, Beatriz M. Simanero, of legal age, Filipino, married and a
resident of Jones, Isabela;
2. That I hereby indict LENIE B. BUENAVENTURA, of legal age,
married, Filipino and a resident of Brgy. Palagao, Jones,
Isabela for the crime of “LIBEL”, mainly for the reason that
she has been spreading rumors that affects the integrity and
credibility of my Family and I;
3. The commission of the crime of “LIBEL” happened on 2
December 2022;
4. That on 2 December 2022, at around 5 in the afternoon, my
nephew by the name of JOREL MARK B. BALINTAG, together
with his relatives and friends, were about to attend the wake
ceremony of my mother’s corpse, however, he was surprised
because none of his relatives and friends would accompany
him to the wake ceremony, his affidavit is hereto attached
as EXHIBIT “A” of this complaint;
5. That while my nephew was roaming around to invite his
other relatives and friends to attend the wake ceremony, he
overheard the conversation of her relatives LENIE B.
BUENAVENTURA and and NORMA D. BALISACAN over the
phone, he heard LENIE B. BUENAVENTURA warned NORMA
D. BALISACAN to not attend the wake ceremony of my
Mother because Family Santiago and I have a plan to kill
every member of the BALISACAN Family that will attend the
wake ceremony, she also said that each and every members
of my family are killers;
6. That, because of such malicious utterances, no one from the
relatives, neighbors and friends of my nephew attended
the wake and burial ceremony of my mother’s corpse
because of their fear that my Family and I would kill the
Balisacan Family whenever they try to attend the wake
ceremony;
7. In addition, on 3 December 2022 I later found out that
LENIE B. BUENAVENTURA has spread the malicious
imputation to other people in our Barangay, and it was Brgy.
Captain Pablito Antonio who confirmed this matter to us
 because the malicious imputation done by LENIE B.
BUENAVENTURA that my family and I were murderers were
also said to him personally by the latter;
8. Also on 03 December 2022, VIRGIE BALISACAN BALINTAG
who works abroad was approached by LENIE B.
BUENAVENTURA on social media through “FACEBOOK” that
my family and I have plot to kill her BALISACAN Family and
such plot shall be executed on their way to the wake
ceremony;
9. That I exerted efforts to clear things out with LENIE B.
BUENAVENTURA by requesting for a Barangay conciliation,
but to no avail, a copy of a certificate to file action on the
matter dated 12 January 2023 is hereby to attached as
ANNEX “B” of this complaint;
10. That up to this moment, my family and I are still
suffering from discrimination and fear in our barangay
because of the malicious imputations done by LENIE B.
BUENAVENTURA against my family and I;
11. THEREFORE, I hereby formally accuse LENIE B.
BUENAVENTURA, a resident ng Brgy. Palagao, Jones, Isabela
for the crime of “LIBEL” under the Revised Penal Code of
the Philippines.
