I, Katy Dieckhaus, and I, Michael Dieckhaus, make the following joint statements upon
personal knowledge:
1. We are the parents of a child who attended The Covenant School, and was present
4. She was kind, smart, funny, had a deep faith, and was a light to so many.
5. Our oldest daughter has lost her only sister and her best friend.
6. They recently were discussing plans of always living close by each other and being
1
7. We are now lying in bed with our oldest daughter every night to console her, and
our own, deep sadness of how we are to ever navigate life ahead of us without our Evelyn on this
8. Unfortunately, the situation that unfolded on March 27th, 2023 at The Covenant
suicide mission, wanting to cause harm, and be known on their way out.
10. It’s a story that continues to be on repeat, everyone unaware of when the next one
11. As one of the families of going through such deep grieving of losing their loved-
one after simply dropping her off at school, we hope a more respectful, clear view can truly start
to occur to help make a change that does not include releasing volumes of leverage for others
To the best of my knowledge, information, and belief, I declare under the penalty of perjury
