How culture should be treated

Every group of people is marked by culture. Throughout the
history, many nations have formed rich these cultures that defined
their very existence and every day lives, but it is also important to
note that oftentimes they were also spread to other people, due to
events such as wars or mass immigrations. It is that which I wish to
address in this essay and voice what I make of it.
To start with, I believe every culture is beautiful in its own
way, provided that it is not actively harmful to humanity itself.
Sharing one’s own unique traditions for the rest of the world to see
should be encouraged, and we should value the individuals that try
to do so. It goes a long way towards educating others and shares
positive messages such as love and respect. On the other hand, we
must be very careful not to tread the thin line of disrespecting the
culture of those that are not our own. We shouldn’t pretend that we
are someone we’re not, nor should we defile and ruin the dignity of
others’ traditions. Also, our own culture mustn’t be forced onto
others, like how it often was, especially back when the world was still
evolving and there were far more conflicts happening around.
To sum it up, I believe it is important to be aware of
everyone’s traditions and fully respect them, but to also be mindful
while doing so. I am personally very fascinated by the changes in
core traits of a nation, which is why certain parts of history fascinate
me. It is why I chose to do this for my presentation, because Europe
is a prime example of huge civilizational shifts throughout its entire
past which in and of itself makes it rich with a variety of culture.
