Gerviel: Servant of the Kingdom - an angel of inspirations

Gerviel: “Servant of the Kingdom,” Malkut

Gerviel, often called the “servant of the Kingdom” (Malkut), is known as the “guardian of King David,” and
as such, is the guardian of the lineage of the Messiah, the Anointed of God; in truth, the Messiah does not
come from the line of King David, but from the lineage of Melchizedek, and so Gerviel is understood in our
tradition and an angelic opener of the way of those who come bearing the Light Transmission of this Holy
Order, the Order of Universal and Primordial Enlightenment.

This archangel comes from the order of the Elim, or elohim, and has a deep connection with Archangel
Haniel, “glory of God,” engaging in all manner of creative inspirations, akin to a “muse of God,” but the
nature of these inspirations are new teachings and revelations of the Torah and Gospel, and so the knowledge
and power of the creation of new angels and new heavens is associated with this angel of God.

The association of Gerviel with King David, and with Haniel, is a grand contemplation, when you remember
King David was the songwriter and singer, and as a composer and musician; there is a deep mystery of
Gerviel revealed in this.

Mother Sarah once spoke of Gerviel in a Shabbat discourse, and she said this: “Gerviel is the messenger of
sacred chants and heart-songs of great power, chants and songs that transform lives and uplift souls in
ascent.”

It is said that the heart-songs of the prophet Miriam and the women elders with her were inspired by this
archangel, and so also many of the songs and dances of Our Lady in Red, the Magdalene.

The title given this archangel, “servant of the Kingdom,” implies that this angelic presence has a deep
connection with the Holy Bride, the Holy Shekinah, and while having a correspondence with Netzach, so also
with Malkut – Community of Israel; and given what has been said, so we may say, this is an angel of God
that labors for the vibrancy, the growth and evolution, and therefore the life, of the Community of Israel, or
the Community of the Spiritual Elect drawn from among all nations in the Messiah.

This is an archangel with deep knowledge of charismatic, or gifted worship, and is said to be among the most
passionate, or zealous, among the order of Elim, or elohim, in the worship before the Presence of God in
heaven; the influence of this archangel inspiring the company of heaven in worship, in praise and

thanksgiving, and blessing Ha-Shem.

In all of this, though, the influence of Gerviel is lofty, most subtle and sublime – this inspiration in worship,
or in music, song and dance, and such, is not mindless, or without awareness, but rather is very conscious,
knowing, and so theurgic; Gerviel inspires mindful or conscious worship, and therefore worship that is truly
theurgic, or “magical,” through which true wonders transpire, such as the appearance of Miriam’s Well
through heart-songs of elder women.

Perhaps in this you may understand, that Gerviel holds the knowledge of sacred art that serves the kingdom
of heaven, and the Light Transmission, not idle or vain “spiritual art” conjured in mindlessness, or apart from
the Fiery Intelligence, the Holy Spirit; and so, perhaps, you may understand the Gerviel is an advocate of
creative forms of Light Transmission, deeply associated with sound-vibration.

Word and melody, or harmony, are keywords associated with this archangel, and so this is an archangel well
known by many initiates of the Order of Haniel.

Gerviel is a most beautiful angel who adores generating many creative emanations or appearances, and who
appears in many garbs. Invoking Gerviel there is this sacred chant taught in the tradition: Al-La-Ho Aiya, Ge-
Ir-Ve-El, Ge-Ir-Ve-El, Al-La-Ho.
