1) OVERVIEW
This document explains how to set up the proper boot sequence in the BIOS for Cascade Shark
Appliances. This document applies to the following models: CSK-01100, CSK-01100-E, CSS-
01100, CSK-02100, CSK-02100-E, CSK-02200, CSK-02200-E, CSS-02100, CSS-02200, CSK-
03100, CSK-03100-E, CSK-03200, CSK-03200-E, CSS-03100 and CSS-03200.
2) BIOS SETUP
1. Boot the appliance and press Del to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
2. Press F9 to make sure Optimal Defaults are loaded and press OK. See figure below:

4. Browse to the menu Boot->”Boot Device Priority” and change the boot device priorities
so that the DVD rom unit is the first one listed, the internal Hard Drive is the second one,
and the remaining entries are set to ‘Disabled’.

To change the boot order:
• With the up/down arrow select the “1st Boot Device” and hit Enter. From the list
that will appear, choose the DVD-ROM (it should be one listed above) and hit
Enter.
• With the up/down arrow select the “2nd Boot Device” and hit Enter. From the list
that will appear, choose the internal Hard Drive (it should be one listed above)
and hit Enter.
• With the up/down arrows select the “3rd Boot Device” and hit Enter. From the list
that will appear, select “Disabled” and hit Enter. Repeat this step until the 3rd, 4th
and 5th boot devices are listed as “Disabled”.
