I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. classify the different tools and equipment for baking in their
different category;
B. differentiate the tools and equipment in baking pastry products; and
C. create different tasks like demonstration on how to use some tools,
jingle, role playing and song.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Introductory PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES:


Activity
a. Greetings
The teacher will greet the students.

b. Prayer
The teacher will choose one student to lead the prayer.

c. Checking of Attendance
The teacher will check the attendance.

d. Classroom rules
The teacher will check on classroom rules.
e. Review
The teacher will ask the student about the previous lesson on
the History of Baking.

f. Motivation:

The teacher will give an activity to the class.

a. The students will supply the missing letters of the word given

1. Activity The teacher will grouped the students into 4 groups. The
teacher will give them materials for this activity (Cartolina,
pictures of baking tools and masking tape)
They will be given 5 minutes to do the activity.

a. First group will categorize the” Baking Wares”

b. Second group will categorize the “Cutting Tools”

c. Third group will categorize the “Mixing Tools”

d. Fourth group will categorize the “Measuring Tools”

B. Presentation of the The teacher will introduce the lesson entitled “Basic Baking Tools
Lesson and Equipment”

The teacher reinforces the discussions with a real baking tools and
equipment presentation includes:

1.Bake Wares
Baking pans are used to hold runny batters, such as cake
batter and thick solid masses of food, such as savory hot dish
recipes

Bake wares have different kinds. It includes the following:


a. Tube center pan- round pan with deep sides and a hollow
center tube used for baking cake, especially angel food or
sponge cake.

b. Muffin pan- used to bake muffin or cupcakes to make the


muffin evenly and easily.

c. Jelly Roll Pan- is simply a smaller version of a rimmed


baking sheet

d. Loaf Pan- is one of the most essential items in bakeware. It is


available in different sizes, materials, and colors, and can be
used to prepare a huge variety of delicious recipes, other than
just bread and pound cake. It’s particularly ideal for days
when you’re looking to make a recipe for two.

e. Pie Plate- is used to make pies. Examples are the egg pie,
pineapple pie etc.

2. Cutting Tools

a. Biscuit and Doughnut Cutter- it is used to shape biscuit


or doughnut like the mister doughnut.

b. Grater- They are commonly used to grate vegetables,


cheese and lemon or orange peel (to create zest),
spices, such as ginger and nutmeg.

c. Pastry Wheel- is a tool which is used to cut, shape, or


mold pastry. Pastry wheels come in several forms,
from cutters which are designed to produce uniform
strips of pastry to pie crimpers.

3. Mixing Tools

a. Mixing Bowl- it is to gradually mix the ingredients like the


flour, butter, salt, vanilla etc.

b. Pastry blender- is made up of wire or strings.


c. Rotary Egg Beater- is used manually beating eggs and
whipping cream.

d. Wire whisk- used to beat not only the egg but also the
different ingredients like the cream, sugar etc.

e. Wooden Spoon- for mixing the different ingredients.

4.Measuring Tools

a. Measuring Cups- These are set of cups made of either


metal or plastic with measurement marked on each side
that are used to measure both liquid and dry ingredients in
smaller quantities.

b. Measuring Spoons- These are sets of spoons with


measurement marked on each side that are used for
measuring small amount of both liquid and dry
ingredients.

c. Weighing Scale- it is a device used for measuring


ingredients at large quantities.

d. Liquid Measuring Cup- it is made of transparent glass or


plastic with graduated measurement on the side, which is
used for measuring liquid ingredients in large quantities.

C. Application ACTIVITY #4 PICK ME UP!

The teacher will give another activity to the class.


The students will be forming 4 groups (same group from the
previous activity).
Each group will select 1 representative to pick up their group task.
