HOLIDAY HOMEWORK - SUMMER VACATION

A) Competency Based Learning (1st to 20th May )
1 a. Write a letter to the editor of a local news paper regarding nuisance created by stray
animals in your area.
b. Write a letter to the executive officer of the municipality of your town complaining against
the insanitary conditions in your locality.
2. Read the chapter , ‘A Triumph of Surgery’ from the Supplementary text ‘ Footprints
Without Feet and complete all the comprehension questions on the lesson .
3. 1 page cursive writing thrice a week. ( Make a diary entry of how you spent the day or
copy down news headlines from an English daily )
4. Design a poster for your area on how to save water during summer and when it is
available in excess.

B) Experiential learning ( 21st May to 30th May )

1. Choose your favourite hero from the given list (any one) Do a research on him/her and
write a script about his/her work and contribution. ( Ref - Nelson Mandela : A long Walk to
Freedom )

1. File information on the poetry, art, traditions, culture and customs of your native state.
( Stick related pictures)

Note- The homework should be done in A4 sized ruled sheets and

punched in office file properly . Only Cursive writing will be done in
four lined note book.
