Asset Model – Assignment Honeywell
Assets
• Assets are defined as directly assignable
Indicates or not-assignable
assignable – Not-assignable assets will have the same
Precipitation asset assignment as their parent asset
– Parent assets are default assignable
• Cannot be changed
Train1 • Points association
Flow = item – Points are associated with assets
Pumps name – Asset association for FI301:
Flow • Assets/Precipitation/Train1/Pumps
• Points are directly referenced by tag
(FI301)
Pressure
(PI302)
name:
– FI301
Filter1 • Points are also referenced within the
Temperature Asset Model using the Item Name and
(TIC205)
fully qualified asset path:
Pressure
(PI506)
– Assets/Precipitation/Train1/Pumps/Flow
Train2 • Unassigned Items
– Any tags without valid asset assignment
Unassigned are grouped into “Unassigned Items”

Asset Model –Asset Restrictions Honeywell
• Configuring assets (and profiles) allows restricting access to:
– Points
• Points associated with a particular asset
– Alarms
• Operators see alarms only from points that fall within their profile
• Alarms can be disabled and enabled by assignable asset
– Custom displays and reports

Summary Honeywell
• When configuring assets, remember:
– Experion points are associated with assets and have a unique tag name and
a unique complete path item name within a server
