Narrative: Theories of Crime Causation

Narrative~

On October 28, 2022 l, Krizbee M. Santos, received a task from Dr. Emily Garcia, Professor
in Theories of Crime Causation, at Cagayan State University Gonzaga regarding the crime
happenings within the vicinity of the respective barangay.

On November 28, 2022 I talked to Mrs. Amanda Nicolas who is the secretary in Minanga
Gonzaga Cagayan, I asked permission to talk to her and interview about the crimes that accured in
our Barangay.

On November 28, 2022 I made a contract again with secretary Amanda Nicolas about the
task given to me. We arrive at the Barangay Hall, Mrs Amanda Nicolas gave me the crime data
and ask for tasking. I choose one of the crime committed which is the Republic Act 11648: An Act
Providing for Stronger Protection Against Rape and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Increasing the
Age for Determining the Commission of Statutory Rape. I took pictures to the crime data she
present.

On November 28, 2022 I made a data analysis of data information complied from Mrs
Amanda Nicolas and the collected from barangay crime data regarding the issue I've choosen.

Rape, sexual exploitation and abuse is not a new thought to us. If we would think about it,
anyone could be a victim of these things. To avoid incidents concerning these, aside from
conducting seminars about these matters to raise awareness to what should and what not, I
suggest that people should make a compromise even though we know that sexual exploitation or
rape happens because of rapists and not because of how people dress or behave, we cannot deny
the fact that these too, have great impact for people in doing such immoral acts. People should be
conscious with their choice of clothing and with their behaviors. Also, I suggest that the community
or barangay makes sure that they create a safe space for people who suffered this unfortunate fate
so that their voices may be heard and they don't feel that they are alone with their own battle.
