The concept of peace can be defined in many ways.

According to the Scout Movement peace

encompasses three different dimensions: the personal dimension – which includes harmony, justice and
equality; the community dimension - peace as opposed to hostility or violent conflict and relationships
between humankind and its environment - security, social and economic welfare and relationship with
the environment itself.

Societies comprise of people with different characteristics, abilities, cultures, religions and beliefs.
Despite these differences we are all unified by a common fact that we are all human. These differences
are meant to create amongst us a variety of things that we can find interesting and enjoyable in each
other; and not as lines along which we should segregate ourselves. In order to coexist harmoniously we
need to find our commonalities and appreciate them. Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said that; "we do
not have peace because we have forgotten that we belong to each other." Peace therefore is about
building harmonious and mutually respectful relationships with each other based on shared values
regardless of any differences that may exist.

For me, peace is living a happy life as an individual without any confusion from your head and feelings
that keeps on hurting. Being away to anything that might distract and destroy the life you have.
Furthermore, the absence of conflict within yourself and to other people around you. It is also the key
factor to achieve silence in our society for us to move and enjoy the days that are coming without any
fear. Especially to the things that might happen in the absence of “peace”.

In conclusion, peace is the vital foundation of living a life that is meaningful accompanied with freedom.
The vital foundation of human existence. Because without peace our very own “world” can be erased in
the split of seconds knowing the war weapons that other country have because of the technology
evolution. So, as we live and continue the journey in our life may we don’t lose “peace” as we go on. If
the things that you used to have can’t give you peace anymore specifically in the mind and heart. Then
better take the courage to let it go. May we choose to live a peaceful life and spread the importance of it
within ourselves, community, country and to the whole world.
