Republican-led Town Council Accomplishments:

1) A stable property-tax rate of 23.88 mills for the last four years. There has been no increase to the municipal property tax rate in the last four annual budgets, while all essential resident services have been maintained. 2) Improved communications between Town Officials and Enfield residents with: Extended E-TV coverage to live streaming & video archival on the Towns website; Customer Service kiosk in the lobby of Town Hall; Improved on-line Resident Service Request System, and a new emergency notification service starting this autumn. 3) Increased transparency by requiring all labor contracts the Town negotiates to be on file for public inspection before the Council can vote on them. 4) Supported capital investments in Enfield Public Schools - Set aside over $1 million for facility improvements, new textbooks, new computers and educational equipment. 5) Upgraded information technology capabilities by investing significantly in updates to our hardware and software systems and infrastructure. 6) Consolidated the delivery of services with those of the Board of Education, increasing efficiencies within the IT Department, Grounds Maintenance, and Building Maintenance. 7) Executed the new Single-Stream-Recycling plan that includes a recycling tipper barrel to every household, at no cost, and purchased new recycling service trucks. 8) Completed and paid for capital projects. - 14 miles of roads reconstructed and/or repaved - 10 miles of sidewalks replaced - Drainage culvert and channels repaired or replaced at Meadowlark Road, Sun Street & Play Road, JFK Middle School, and at the Transfer Station - Replaced the South Maple Street Bridge and improved the Town Farm Road Bridge over the Scantic River 9) Reinforced our strong commitment to Public Safety with the addition of three new Police Officers, a third K-9 Officer, new bulletproof vests, new officers weapons, and expansion of Enfields participation in regional task forces and training opportunities. 10) Made a priority of addressing economic & community development strategies: Strengthened municipal codeenforcement activities; improved business retention, attraction and growth efforts; streamlined permitting processes; continued emphasis of sound revitalization principals in Thompsonville neighborhoods.

Republican Board of Education Accomplishments: 1. Negotiated New Contracts with all labor groups keeping salaries and benefits reasonable. 2. Updated Enfield school curriculum and new textbooks and technology for teachers and students; Using Capitol Improvement Projects (CIP) and BOE budgeted funds we spent over $500,000. 3. Worked with Town IT Department to make substantial upgrades to aging IT infrastructure: K-6 classrooms - Interactive White Boards and Student/ Teacher Interactive Response Pilot Program in 6th Grade using HP Laptop computers. 4. Continue to televise BOE meetings on E-TV to keep residents informed. 5. Continue to offer quality education, while keeping the annual budget flat for the last three years. Thus considering the tax burden on Enfield residents but supporting our students and teachers. 6. Budget Accountability implemented the Munis accounting program. 7. Improved Enfields overall educational standings with higher test scores. 8. Continue to update school district policies to reflect current needs. 9. Working on the Consolidation of High Schools to maintain programs and reorganization, while focusing on a 21st Century education. 10. Held Multiple Community Conversations for Elementary/Middle School consolidation and reorganization. 11. Planning the implementation of the Gifted and Talented Program (TAG) for 2012-2013. 12. Balanced classroom sizes in K-6. Consolidated and reorganized: Pre-K- 2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8 configuration.
