Vide CPRO letter under reference no (i), activities/events to be undertaken on Mission
LiFE by the field units have been listed. Also, vide Railway board letter under reference no (ii),
two activities have been shortlisted by EnHM Directorate of Railway board, which are as under:
1. Generating awareness among all staff of Indian Railways to conserve electricity and
water under the banner of Mission LiFE.
2. Display of Mission LiFE logos & messages on Bottle Crushing Machines at Railway
stations to make public aware to discard used water bottles in it instead of throwing
elsewhere.
These activities have to be carried out in intensive way up to 5 th June, 2023 (World
Environment Day) and the same will be continued up to August 2023.
Design for banners/ posters, videos, other creative material and Pledge is available on
http://missionlife-moefcc.nic.in/Downloads.php which can be used for the campaign. Pledge on
‘Mission LiFE’ has to be administered to Railway Officers, employees and contract cleaning staff.

In avideo conference with the Cabinet Secretary on 02.05.2023 (minutes attached). it has
been deliberated that more environment friendly works may be undertaken by the Indian
Railways under the logo of Mission LiFE, as part of Hon'ble PM's vision for 'nmindful and
deliberate utilization, instead of mindless and destructive consumption' to protect and preserve
the environment.
2 In view of the above, an Action plan (copy enclosed) has been approved by the
Competent Authorityof Railway Board, wherein various Directorates of Railway Board (in turn,
various Departments of Zonal Railways) have been entrusted with different activities to be
undertaken in intensive way upto the 5" June 2023 and the same shall be continued in
upcoming years too in the true spirit of Mission LiFE' as envisaged by the Ministry of
Environment. Forests & Climate Change (MoEF & CC) and exhibited through a theme booklet
on Mission LiFE' (enclosed& sent herewith digitally throughemail).
4 IL may kindly be ensured that the action taken / day-wise details of the events are
uploaded on the dedicated portal of Meri LiFE viz. merilife.org through the designated field
oflicers by means of uploading:
5 pictures per event (Size : Maximum I MB each)
3videos of 45seconds each per event (Size : Maximum 5MB each)
º Amplifyon social media handles using hashtags #ChooseLiFE and #MissionLiFE

2 Social Media campaign: Wide dissemination of PR Dte (Railway
Mission LiFE logo and Creatives on Conserve Energy Board) and PR
and Water, etc through official Social media handles of Department of Zonal
Ministry of Railways, Zonal Railways (both Railways
Headquarters and Divisions) and Production Units.
3 Organizing drawing competitions, poster competitions, Establishment/HR Dte
seminars/talks/ lectures at Training Institutes and (RB)
Schools of Indian Railways throughout the country;
subject to provision of content & training by MoEF&CC
to the trainers of Indian Railways.
4 Urging Railway officers & employees to opt
environment friendly work-practices such as :

a. Use of official email as mode of formal
communication instead of physical dispatch of Secretary Dte
letters
b. Use of e-office in all offices to reduce paper
consumption to the minimal level.
