About Blyth
Way back in 1989, a man had a vision. That man
was Terry Searle and he decided to develop and
build the very first GRP commercial catamaran of
her kind in the UK. The Blyth 33’ was born.

The commercial sector remained unconvinced

for a time, but gradually they began to realise the
benefits of a catamaran over a mono-hull -that
the surface area of the hull is less, offering the all

important low fuel consumption, and that their
stability meant that these boats were the only
ones out in all weathers!

Nineteen years on, that original catamaran “Jo

Engine Options
We currently offer Iveco as the best value for money. The new NEF400 are
electronically controlled and we have found them extremely reliable and
unbelievable for fuel economy!

De-rated to 330hp, you can

expect 28 knots on a light
boat, cruising at 20 knots at
2000 rpm. And at 1800 rpm,
we have had reports of 2.3
gallons per hour, per engine!

Should you want a little less speed however,

“Kipper” (left) is powered by twin Perkins 225Ti
diesel engines and is achieving 20 knots at 2000-
2100 rpm, with a top speed of 25 knots in good
conditions and fuel consumption at around
3 gallons per hour, per engine.

Some of your engine options:

Make HP Top speed Cruising @ RPM

Cummins (11m) 350 28.5 knots 20 knots 2400

Perkins (10m) 215 25 knots 20 knots 2000
Iveco (11m) 370 27.5 knots 20 knots 2300
Iveco (10m) 330 28 knots 20 knots 2000
Yanmar (10m) 315 29 knots 20 knots
Ford Mermaid (10m) 100 18 knots 15 knots 1500

Also available: Daewoo, John Deere

Turn the weather conditions to a Force 7, gusting 8 and we have personally

been on a Blyth 10m, cruising at 15 knots against the worst of it. The boat
was fitted with twin 280hp mechanical Iveco engines.

Just speak to existing owners of any new Blyth and you will hear tales of
their boats keeping them safe in much harsher conditions! The Blyth cat
really is an exceptional sea boat.
We will fit any engine package that you require and can offer competitive pricing on most makes and models.
