The Alarm

The powerful Alarm handling is one of the most important features of Entis Pro. With this
task, operators can set operational alarms on any of the measured or calculated entities.
The Alarm task is one of the many standard tasks of Entis Pro.
The Alarm Task of Entis Pro is the ultimate safe keeper for any modern automated Tank
farm.

screen. For maximum visibility the window is bright red with yellow text. The window will
always be on top of all other windows, and will stay visible until all alarms are
acknowledged.

The Alarm Type
Profile icon
The network alarm handling is an important feature of Entis Pro. With the Alarm Type Profile
task the user can define which alarms of Entis Pro will be sent to which PC station.
In networked Entis Pro systems it is possible to program the alarm profile per station.
This allows the Supervisor to select PC's where it is not desired to generate alarm pop-ups or
alarm sounds.

The 'Change Dimensions' is one of the optional
tasks available for Entis Pro.
'Change Dimensions' is available from the toolbar

and allows to convert the units into an other
dimension.
This task works for nearly all tasks, and is ideal for sites where it is
required to convert between different customary units, like feet and
inches, barrels and gallons, etc.
All Entis Pro windows indicate the use of non-standard units, by

clearly marking said units as blue text. This prevents erroneous data
interpretation.

The BarGraph
The Bar Graph task is one of the 3 different views Entis Pro offers. icon in the Entis
These windows offer a unique view on where the actual inventory is stored for multiple Pro toolbar
tanks in a group.
All bar graphs show relative inventory as TOV (Total Observed Volume), the tank moving
status and all level Programmable Alarms (PAL's).
Size of bar indicates relative Color of bar indicating the movement

volume of Tank status of the Tank:
Name of selected Blue = filling
Group Green = stationary
Brown = emptying
Arrows indicating status of all level related

With the Define View task, the operator can create his own views.
Even detailed information can be viewed from any tank group by means of the Group Detail
task.
By creating a view, you organize your work, and retrieve data faster without errors. For
example, you can create a 'pump view' showing all important data when pumping, like flow,
moving status, or a special 'mass' page.
Define View, another unique feature of Entis Pro, a helping hand for the operator.

Modern gauges quite often support special commands and/or functions. These commands
can be used for example to 'Block' the displacer of a servo tank gauge at a certain level, but
also for testing alarm contacts remotely from servo tank gauges as well as SmartRadar level
gauges.
Which command and function is exactly available depends on the type of gauge, and will
also depend on the application.
It helps the operator to know what gauge is installed and whether a particular function is
available.
First select the right
The Gauge Command task of Entis Pro is 'Gauge aware'. It shows an icon that corresponds tank....

Grouping your tanks to organize your The Group Setup

Entis Pro can both handle 'Static-' and 'Dynamic Tank Groups'. In static groups the tank
membership is a fixed relationship. A typical example for a fixed group is the tanks within
one bunt.
In dynamic groups the membership depends on the value or state of a measured or
calculated entity.
Dynamic groups are an ideal organizer for any tank farm. i.e. you can now make a group
with all filling tanks. Just create a dynamic group and make the association linked to the
flow. Also you can now make your product groups dynamic. The moment you change the
product name, the tank will automatically move between groups.

Recognize your tank type The Group View

toolbar
The Group View is a task, which displays a group of Tanks with
smaller bitmaps.
All the bitmaps include a small bargraph indicating product and
water level. The color of the bargraph indicates the moving status of
the tank. A signal horn will pop up on the tank, whenever an alarm
is active on the relevant tank.
The tank bitmaps are configurable per tank. More that 250 different
tank shapes are possible. If required, the user can even add his own
customized bitmaps.
From here you can select a tank, and then issue

any Entis Pro command from the toolbar

This additional security layer from Entis Pro enables the user to log on
and off, without restarting the PC, as required with Windows NT.

Time is an essential part of measuring inventory data. Time is used at all levels within the
Entis Pro system to verify the freshness of data. All data scanned by the CIU Prime is
time stamped. Thereafter, the data will be associated with a specific time.
The Master clock is an integral part of Entis Pro. Through the kernel, it keeps all clocks
synchronized within the Entis Pro system.
The location of the Master Clock is selectable. This location could be either in one of the
PC stations or in one of the CIU Pluses.
It is always possible to synchronize one particular station with an external clock.

For instance, through the internet to one of the atomic clocks available throughout the
world.
As an alternative, it is also possible to synchronize one of the CIU Pluses with a Host, like
a DCS system. In this case, the related CIU can function as the dedicated Master clock.
Just select one of the

Entis Pro provides a high degree of flexibility to customize your reports to suit your
own house style. The Report Manager makes it possible to print out customized
reports.
Now, with Entis Pro, you make your own templates, and integrate them within
Entis Pro.
Step 1:
Entis Pro uses the well known Crystal Report printing engine. Select the type of report you

The Entis Pro Tank Calculator is a so called 'What if calculator'. A calculator which allows
you not only to calculate inventory. It is a calculator which goes much farther.
How to use:
• Start the Tank Calculator from the toolbar of any of the Entis Pro screens
• First select a Group/Tank and hit the button
• The Tank Calculator always starts up with the actual inventory data at that moment
• Below you see an actual screen, as it will pop-up

Tank Calculator Entis Pro
All white fields are data entry fields and their contents can be
modified.
For example, you can calculate the Gross Observed Volume (GOV)
for a given product level.
The Total Observed Volume
This indicates that you now can calculate the new inventory. Just (TOV) field will now become
click on the button and let the calculator do the work! grayed out, to indicate you
can't enter data anymore.
Just some examples, of what you can calculate:
• Calculate the TOV for a given level,
• Calculate the Reference Density for a product sample
given a certain temperature and observed density,
Or visa versa.
• Calculate the Level in any given Tank responding to a
certain volume.
However, the Tank Calculator has also the capabilities to simulate

batch transfers.
This allows you to transfer a virtual quantity into or out of one of
your storage tanks.
