Pasciolco Agri Ventures

Pasciolco Agri Ventures produces and exports a variety of coconut-based products, including
vinegar, jams, virgin coconut oil, sugar and syrup, providing livelihood for around 100 families of
farmers. Products are organic, halal and kosher certified.

A business that began 25 years ago as a basic manufacturing facility inside a coconut farm,
Pasciolco now exports half of its organic coconut products to international markets like the
European Union.

Tapping various government programs, MSME owner Maureen M. Pasciolco kept building upon
her entrepreneurial achievements. The Philippine Coconut Authority and the Departments of
Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the
Department of Agriculture (DA) all helped Pasciolco meet international market requirements,
revamp production processes, and obtain certifications.

Recently, Pasciolco was also one of the recipients of the Export Management Coaching
Initiative (EMCI) implemented by the Departments of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the
International Trade Centre (ITC) under the ARISE Plus Philippines Program which started in
July 2022.
EMCI offers practical and action-oriented advisory services to selected Philippine micro, small
and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through the delivery of on-the-job coaching to support
them in resolving day-to-day problems related to export and import procedure management.
The coaching program consists of one-on- one, on-the-job training delivered by an Export
Management Coach (EMC) over the course of approximately three to five days, at the premises
of the beneficiary SME. Coaching missions aim to address issues on export management,
specifically in relation to:
 Packaging and Labeling
 Regulatory Compliance and Buyer Requirements
 Customs Formalities and Applicable Fees
 International Shipping by Sea and Air
 Export Planning and Pro-forma Invoice

Three batches of companies have been selected across the country to benefit from the EMCI
including more than fifty (50) coaching missions delivered to Philippines’ MSME exporters
nationwide.

The EMCI is one of the targeted/tailored support to Philippine MSMEs under the ARISE Plus
Philippines Programme with the end goal of improving international trade performance and
competitiveness of Philippine MSMEs.

“The export management coaching initiative was very helpful. It provided us with an update on
export policies and requirements and related export processes, some of them we were not fully
aware of, such as Incoterms or tax exemptions. The learnings I gained from the coaching will
greatly help us in our export documentation, which will then help us export better.” - Pasciolco
