Apple iOS

Apple iOS is a proprietary mobile operating system that runs on the iPhone, iPad and iPod
Touch.
Apple iOS is based on the Mac OS X operating system for desktop and laptop computers.
The iOS developer kit provides tools that allow for iOS app development.

Apple iOS features


Apple iOS includes the following features:
 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular connectivity, along with VPN support;
 Integrated search support, which enables simultaneous search through files, media,
applications and email;
 Gesture recognition supports for example, shaking the device to undo the most recent
action;
 Push email;
 Safari mobile browser;
 Integrated front and rear facing cameras with video capabilities;
 Direct access to the Apple App Store and the iTunes catalog of music, podcasts,
television shows and movies available to rent or purchase;
 Compatibility with Apple's cloud service, iCloud;
 Siri personal assistant;
 Cross-platform communications between Apple devices through AirDrop; and
 Apple Pay, which stores users' credit card data and allows them to pay for goods and
services directly with an iOS device.
Apple iOS version history
Apple iOS was originally known as iPhone OS. The company released three versions of the
mobile OS under that name before iOS 4 debuted in June 2010.

On Oct. 12, 2011, Apple released iOS 5, which expanded the number of available
applications to over 500,000. This iOS version also added the Notification Center, a camera
app, Siri and more.
Unveiled on June 11, 2012, iOS 6 included a Maps application and the Passbook ticket
storage and loyalty program application.
Released on Sept. 18, 2013, iOS 7 featured an entirely redesigned user interface. In
September 2014, iOS 8 introduced Continuity, a cross platform system that allows users of
multiple Apple devices to pick up on one where they left off from another. Other new
features included the Photos app and Apple Music.

Apple iOS 9 and iOS 10 released, respectively, on Sept. 16, 2015, and Sept. 13, 2016
featured upgrades such as a revamped notifications section, improved iMessage capabilities
and Siri integration with third-party apps.

Android OS

Android OS is a Linux-based platform for mobile phones. Android was released under the
Apache v2 open source license.
Android was developed by Google and the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), a coalition of
hardware, software and telecommunications companies. More than 30 companies were
involved in the OHA, including Qualcomm, Broadcom, HTC, Intel, Samsung, Motorola,
Sprint, Texas Instruments and Japanese wireless carriers KDDI.
Foundation of Android OS
Android began its life as a Palo Alto-based startup company, founded in 2003. That company
was subsequently acquired by Google in 2005. The Android platform includes an operating
system based upon Linux.

Blackberry OS
es un sistema operativo incluido en la gama de teléfonos móviles de la compañía Canadiense
Research In Motion (RIM) y que viene incorporado en los móviles fabricados por la empresa,
que también llevan el apelativo Blackberry, seguido por el modelo correspondiente.
Historia
La historia de Blackberry OS como sistema operativo se remonta a 1999, con la primera
aparición de los terminales Handheld, estos dispositivos permitían, en un principio, acceso a
nuestras cuentas de correo electrónico, navegación web, y conexión a programas de gestión
de correo y agenda como Microsoft Exchange o Lotus Notes, además de ofrecernos los
servicios y características propias de un teléfono móvil.
Características:
Este sistema cuenta con un nivel seguridad del que otros sistemas operativos carecen y, por
eso, suele ser el elegido por profesionales y empresarios, aunque si eres un usuario particular
también tendrás acceso a este nivel de seguridad, ya que tu compañía telefónica te obliga a
contratar el paquete de datos propios del sistema Blackberry por una módica cantidad
mensual.
Este S.O nos ofrece acceso a nuestras cuentas de correo electrónico, agenda profesional,
libreta de direcciones, eventos, tareas, notas, además de la sincronización con nuestro
ordenador personal mediante programas externos.
BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server)

Este es el servicio asociado diseñado para empresas y profesionales, usuarios que buscan una
seguridad extrema, tanto en sus correos como en sus datos personales y privados.
BES, es un paquete de Software que se encarga de centralizar todos los correos a los
dispositivos Blackberry de una misma empresa o compañía, el software debe ser instalado en
un servidos de la propia empresa y gestionado por los administradores de la misma.
Las principales funciones de este paquete de software son las siguientes:
 Control total del buzón de entrada e identificación de los correos.
 Gestión de los filtros seleccionados por los propios usuarios.
 Comprime y optimiza los mensajes, encriptándolos y enviándolos a los dispositivos
Blackberry asociados a la cuenta.

Versiones de BlackBerry OS:


Versiones 1.0 y 3.6
Sale el primero de enero de 1996, 4 de marzo del 2002.
El sistema operativo BlackBerry hizo su debut y fue lanzado en el Smartphone Black Berry
5810.
Versiones 5.0 y 6.0
Sale el 4 de agosto del 2009, abril del 2010.
Se libera en los Smartphone BlackBerry bold 9000 y 8520.
Versión 7.0
Se lanza oficialmente en agosto del 2011 en el BlackBerry touch y Black Berry curve.

Versión 7.2

Lanzan al mercado el sistema operativo BlackBerry 10 esta fue una actualización a la versión
7.0 y añadió varias características que el 7.0 no tenia.

Windows Phone OS
Windows Phone is a proprietary mobile operating system developed by Microsoft. Windows
Phone introduced a new design language, previously called Metro UI, but later renamed to
simply Modern.
In 2011 Nokia announced it has chosen Windows Phone as the OS for all its future
smartphones providing a solid backing for the fledgling OS and in the same time betting all
of its mobile phone business on its success.
Windows Phone 7
The initial announcement of Windows Phone 7 came in February, 2010. It was later launched
in October the same year.
Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
The next major update – Windows Phone 7.5 Mango – saw the light of day in May 2011. The
update brought the frequently requested multi-tasking for third-party apps and added the
updated Internet Explorer 9, Twitter integration and Windows Live SkyDrive access.
Windows Phone 7.5 Tango
Another update followed in 2012, dubbed Tango, which lowered the minimum hardware
requirements for the smartphones essentially allowing Windows Phones at lower price points.
Other new features include the capability to create a Wi-Fi hotspot and flip-to-silence.
Windows Phone 7.8
Reportedly, a Windows Phone 7.8 update is in the works. It should carry over some of the
new features of Windows Phone 8 down to the lineup of previous smartphones, as those
would not be updated to Windows 8.
The launch schedule is yet unannounced by Microsoft.
Windows Phone 8
In October 2012 Microsoft released a major update to the mobile OS. Older devices are
denied an update.
Windows 8 introduced much awaited features such as multi-core processor and multiple
screen resolution support, removable memory card support, USB Mass storage mode,
DivX/XviD video playback support, NFC support, Bluetooth file transfers, Kid's Corner, etc.
