VI. Rationale:
What makes a great school or workplace canteen is based on more than just
delicious food and quick service. There is need to provide a comfortable and inviting
space that encourages teachers and students to eat there during breaks. Canteens
are where your students or employees will take their breaks and socialize.
Therefore, it is important to make sure that the facilities are comfortable and fit in.

In the start of the face to face class after pandemic, shortage of chairs first
came need to addressed by the school. Parents and students’ meeting usually
conducts in assembly while social distancing is still implemented. There are still
classrooms who still experiencing shortage of chairs.

And so, Laguilayan National High School has a building intended for canteen
but there is no available storage, chairs and tables to make its client comfortable
while having their recess. For an even more comfortable seating solution, it could
consider canteen chairs and tables. Having a canteen table and chairs which are
easy to clean will help save a lot of time for cleaning staff and will keep surfaces
maintained to a high standard. For canteen, its present condition is unhygienic and
affects the health of individuals. Total renovation is required to improve the interior
and facade of the structure, the ventilation and lighting system, storage for kitchen
equipment, utensils, and eradicate pests.

Aside from this, there is a need to install a ceiling of the rooftop against warm
condition of the canteen during recess and protect its client from falling debris from
above.

On the other hand, purchasing of monoblack chairs are still considered to

resolve the issue of classroom concern.
The purpose of this proposal is to upgrade the school canteen to meet the
standard minimum requirement for the benefit of students and to minimize the
problem of chairs of the classrooms. The improvement of the school canteen and
classroom setup is increasingly important to address the needs of teachers and
students.
