TECHNICAL GUIDELINES

FOR THE RV SPELLING CHALLENGE ‘21

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:

MECHANICS:
- This will be exclusive on Zoom only, no live-streaming.

a. ROOM SET-UP
- How many cameras will we be using?
One (Camera 3) webcam on laptop where we see the contestant
seated and the other 2 at the back showing the blind side of camera
3. Thus in triangular form.

- Two cell phone cameras representing Cameras 1 and 2, in effect


are needed.
- Only laptops are allowed to view and headphones/earphones to
cover both ears to hear the spellmaster. Smart TVs are disallowed.
- Prompting and cheating in any form means immediate
disqualification.
- The cameras should be steady.
- No enhancing audio devices such as external speakers will be used.
- Use Basic cell phone video camera features only.

- Only one person, regardless of designation, shall be responsible for


the technical needs of the contestant during the competition. Thus,
only one person accompanies the participant inside the room.
- Web camera: fronting the contestant camera)
The other 2 cameras will not join the audio in zoom.

- Demonstration / dry run on _________________.


- There will be ISAAL officers who will monitor the three cameras
on the participant.

Transmission problems on the contestants’ side at the time of actual


performance need not ask for a repeat. Due diligence is asked of the
coaches to explain in detail the guidelines and mechanics to parents and
concerned parties.
