Results of a study

Gadgets

- were once used by the upper-middle-class economy but nowadays it is used by all categories of people
including children (1).A gadget is an electronic appliance which is produced for the purpose of
downloading the latest information which makes life easier for people.(2).A gadget can be used for
watching videos, playing game, communicating, listening to, studying and creating an illustration or a
document.(www.researchgate.com)

•Communication:Email, chats and group discussion all are made possible with gadgets like tablets,
smartphones, and computers connected via internet.Students are increasingly sharing tasks and
information, making report, and taking part in a group activities and projects via their electronic devices.

•Learning:I have many learning apps and educational videos available online to make learning easier for
children of all ages. There are various types of educational apps like language learning apps, home tuition
apps, and study apps which students can access on their electronic gadgets.

•Research: Electronic devices are a boon for students who do a lot of research online, access online
journals, books,or magazines, and attend virtual classrooms as part of their academic activities.

Students behavior

2.2 Defining Behavior is essential to effective instruction.Being able to define behaviour helps make the
learning process more likely to be successful.Behavior is generally considered what someone
does.Behavior includes what the person does that is observable and measurable it is common to define
behavior by identifying what actions the teacher decides that the individual should begin to
display.Behavior is typically not defined by talking about the reason behind the behavior.Behavior is not
defined by identifying a person's motivation, thought or feelings for doing something.

To define behavior an objective and measurable phrase is developed. For example a parent who is trying
to help their child."be more respectful"should not define the target behavior as,"my child will be more
respectful"because the term respectful is not observable.

2.3 Factors Affecting Classroom Discipline

There are many factors that can influence the participation of students in the classroom. In fact, some
factors are internal and others are external. Some students are also assertive, active, and confident
enough. On the other hand, there are some students who are bashful and passive. The main reason for
this disparity may be socio-cultural values that oriented towards gender differences.

-lack of leadership in teacher-economic difficulties

-the current educational system-lack of communication

-lack of sustaining ideal in students-distruptive behavior of the teacher

When John Hopkins University researchers Gary D.Gottfredson and Denise C.Gottfredson analyze data
from over 600of the nation's secondary schools, they found that the following school characteristics
were associated with discipline problems.

-Rules were unclear or perceived as unfairly or inconsistently enforced.

-Students did not believe in the rules.

-Teachers and administrators did not know what the rules were or diagreedon the proper responses to
student misconduct.

-Teacher-administrator cooperation was poor or the administrator inactive

-Teachers tend to have punitive attitudes

2.4 Successful Teaching and Learning

If a pupil is misbehaving in your lesson, whether you are primarily or secondary school teacher, they are
likely to be doing so far one of two reasons.

-they are bored-they don't find the lesson content stimulating enough

-they are struggling -they are finding the work difficult and are creating distraction.

It is important to remember that bad behavior is very rarely a personal attack on your
capabilities. However how you manage classroom behavior will determine how you develop as a teacher.

According to research conducted by Rahayu(2018) which shows what student learning outcomes do not
have a significant increase even with source books or searching for information through devices. It can
be concluded that student learning outcomes do not affect the presence or absence of the use of
devices in the information search process, but devices greatly affect the process of teaching and learning
activities.
Based on the research that has been conducted by Nelli(2019) which concludes that field of research
shows that academic development greatly influences the use of gadgets because students who
reallyfuse gadgets to learn, these students will experience an increase the value of achievement or
academic value increases.Based on research that has been conducted by Nikmawati(2021) which
concludes that the use of gadgets does not significantly affect the learning outcomes of fifth grade
students. The positive impact obtained in using gadgets makes it easier for studentsto participate in
teaching and learning activities, makes it easier to access information, and learns new things through
social media. But there is also a negative impact on students' learning achievement which is decreased
interest in learning, playing more social media, online games and eye disorders.Addiction to using more
gadgets to play games and social media results in students' achievement not progressing in
understanding which makes their grades decreased (Gallingging,2022)

1.2.Gender

2.What is the level of Academic Performance of the respondents in terms of their General Weighted
Average (GWA)?

3.What is the level of Academic Performance of the respondents?

4.Is there anay significant relationship between the electronic gadgets and the academic performance?
