Work-life balance

Hello everyone, my name is Mirjam, and our topic for today is work life balance.

In the last couple of days all of us read a lot about this issue, so I try to approach it from a univeritiy
students perspective.

First of all, I have two questions for you.

1. Is there any of you who work beside school?

2. Raise your hand if you study right know because you want a good job (opportunity) later/
after graduating?

We can see that most of us not even works yet, but work it self influences and have an impact in our
lifes and actions.

(work is one of the cornerstones of being human, and living in our society. )As young adults we
dream, we have big dreams haven’t we. I am sure you also have plans, you see things in your future
what you love.

But for these dreams we all need something. Knowledge. Work. Money. and unless you win the
lottery or inherit some great fortune I guarantee that you have to work hard for this.

When I was a kid I thought that the only thing you need to get some money, is to ask.

when I become 20 I discoverd that work can be realy tiaring, exhausting, and stressful. That i have a
lot of resonsibilites, dedlines I have an angry boss, and i still have to study, , I should do some
exercises for my health and i also want to spend some time with my friends. And the result of this
whole mess is that you start to understand that how easy to loose the control, the balance.

As a culture, we’ve come to value growth and productivity, making paid work not only a necessity,
but a central concern in peoples’ lives. Althou this attitude is harming us more than it’s helping.

People who are constantly tied to their jobs(in our case it can be school) deal with the symptoms of
stress and burnout. If a person doesn’t have a time to relax and recharge, their ability to do their job
decreases and their performance level suffers.

We can’t start too early to think about how to manage our time effectiveliy, how to balanceing
school, personal life and work as well. try to buid up and create our work life balance

 does not mean an equal balance

 will vary over time, but we always can find new ways
 There is no perfect, one-size fits all

It is proven that self-management is important; people need to control their own behavior and
expectations.

I heard from many people who are in there twenties, that I will work hard, I am not resting, I will rest
when I am rich.

It’s important to enjoy the journey as well.

Work hard for your dreams, but always find a way to rest and recharge.
