Detailed Lesson Plan in Music 3

Fourth Quarter

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:


a. Identified the meaning of musical instrument, and;
b. Differentiated percussion instruments among other musical instruments.

II. Subject Matter

a. Subject Content Resources: MAPEH Book (Grade 3)


b. Visual Aids/Teaching Aids: PowerPoint presentation, video, audio music and television.
c. Values Focus: Know the importance of the accompaniment of musical instruments in
music.

Today is another day to enjoy and explore. Are


you ready to learn new lessons for today my
dear pupils?
That’s nice. I can feel that everyone is excited.
But before we properly get started with our
discussions, let’s check your attendance first.

3. Checking of Attendance

My dear pupils, please say present as I call


your name.

Today is April 5, 2023. Your attendance check Pupils will say “present” as the teacher
starts now. call out their names.

Great job for having a perfect attendance my

4. Lesson Recall

The teacher will ask the following to the pupils:

2. Discussion
Everyone please read.

The marching band is a large group of musicians (The students will read it load and
playing different instruments while marching. It is clear.)
also usually played during fiestas, sports,
competitions and other celebrations.

If there is a band, means there is also an


instrument. So, what is a musical instrument?

Musical instrument is a device that is used in (The students will read it load and

There are different types of musical instruments,
but we will tackle first the percussion instruments.
What is this? Everyone please read.

Percussion instruments are musical instruments (The students will read it load and
that are played by means of shaking, hitting or clear.)

There are two common types of percussion


instruments are pitched percussion and non-
pitched percussion.

Pitched percussion are musical instruments that


have a definite or exact pitch that produces melodic
sounds.

On the other hand, non-pitched percussion are


instruments that have an indefinite pitch that
produce the rhythmic part in a musical
performance.

Some examples of pitched percussions are


xylophone, toy piano, chimes, desk bells and
marimba.

Some examples of non-pitched percussions are


tambourine, maracas, snare drum, triangle and egg
shakers.

Always remember that percussion instruments are


played in order to create a rhythm and keep a beat.
