PROJECT INNOVATION PROPOSAL

I. Project Title: PILA – Parents Involvement in Learning Arithmetic

II. Proponent: Mathematics Teachers

III. Implementer: School Head, Teachers, and Parents

IV. Target Clientele: Identified Grade 7 Non-Numerates on Tondod High School

V. Rationale:

Annually, the assessment for learners in the Grade 7 level identifies the
non-numerates from the elementary. Being in a situation where teachers and
students have very little interaction due to the health protocols as our response to
the Covid-19 pandemic, that’s why the Mathematics Department continues to seek
interventions to address this issue.
Parents being the facilitator of learning at home is a commitment. Their part
is crucial in realizing the project PILA. The project aims to turn learners in Grade 7
who identified non-numerates to be numerates. Collaboration is the key as saying
goes “No man is an island”, same as stating the school alone cannot make it. Thus,
this project involves stakeholders especially the parents in order to realize its
objective of it. Math Teachers on the other hand give their assistance to the parents
for them to be eligible in tutoring their child for their improvement.

Specifically, this project aims to:
1. Encourage partnership with the parents in learning arithmetic.
2. Provide free and realistic mathematics lessons for the non-numerates, and
3. Eliminate/lessen non-numerate learners in Tondod High School

VII. Project Description:

Tondod High School Project entitled “{Parents Involvement in Learning
Arithmetic (PILA) is an initiative of the Proponent to provide intervention program to
the under-achiever learners in Math 7 in the form of the face-to-face tutorial of the
trained parents even guardians and teacher-made instructional materials which are
contextualized and based on their numeracy levels.
As a learner-centered public institution, Tondod High School continuously
improves itself to better serve its stakeholder. In line with the call of improving
numeracy level, the proponents find means through offering the intervention to the
learners in Math 7 who are underachievers, with that this project was conceptualized.

Since change is inevitable, varied and suited strategies also exist. The setting is
a challenge but hand in hand, we can consider any undertaking a success. As the

not compromised. This project also assures the stakeholders of Tondod High School
will be informed of any information that will concern the school, the learners, the
parents, and other stakeholders as we will continue to improve its Mode of Instruction.
Once each key player realized shares their part with the initiation of the proponent,
everything will be in order, after all, it’s the learners given the big consideration that
