CHAPTER 2: RIZAL’S CHILDHOOD YEARS IN CALAMBA

1, DESCRIBE THE EARLIEST CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF RIZAL?

 The first teacher of Jose Rizal is her mother, Teodora Alonso is a


well-educated woman who taught Jose Rizal to read and write at
an early age. Rizal remembered sitting in his mother's lap as she
taught him how to read from a book. Rizal is a devoutly catholic
Jose Rizal and his family attending church every Sunday.
 The early childhood of Rizal was huge important and impact to his
life to develop his skills such as influencing his works, his
perspective and motivating his love of learning, the environment,
and his nation.

2, WHAT IS THE FIRST SORROW OF JOSE RIZAL?

 The first sorrow of Jose Rizal was the death of his sister named
Concha she died at three years this event was deeply affected of
Jose Rizal because Rizal is only four years old when his sister died
and he later wrote about it in his autobiographical work,
"Memories of Childhood." He believed that the loss of his sister at
such a young age helped him develop a deeper appreciation for the
fleeting nature of life and the importance of cherishing every
moment with loved ones.
3, WHAT WAS THE MESSAGE INTENDED BY RIZAL THROUGH THE
STORY OF MOTH?
 The story of moth refers to us like a person who wants so succeed
to our dreams Jose Rizal reference the moth as a human and flame
represent our dreams. Jose Rizal wants us to deliver the story of
moth that is no problem to pursue, strong determination, keep
going to your dream but we must also mindful to our actions that
may lead in risk, danger and consequences.

4, EXPLAIN THE INFLUENCES OF IN THE HERO’S BOYHOOD?


 The Jose Rizal’s boyhood was influence by the many factors to
develop the capacity of Rizal to inspire other with his personality,
worldview, and aspirations. The boyhood also refers to the
education of Rizal the first teacher of Rizal was his mother, the
school he attended was the higher universities where Rizal
excelled in his studies that may the youth will inspire by Rizal
dedication also the culture in the Philippines the heritage and
history of the Philippines was Rizal exposed at early age folklore,
legends, and heroes, and he developed a deep sense of pride and
patriotism for his country. Rizal's values, convictions, and goals
were shaped by these influences while he was a young kid. Later
on, he would become a key figure in the Philippine nationalist
movement, where he promoted social justice, education, and
freedom from colonial control. His early life would have a
significant impact on his growth into a national hero and a
champion of the Filipino people.

5, WHAT WAS THE FIRST POEM OF RIZAL?


 The title of Jose Rizal's first poem was "Sa Aking mga Kabata"
(To My Fellow Youth). He dedicated the poem to his childhood
friend Pedro A. Paterno when he was only eight years old in 1869.
a) WHAT DOES JOSÉ RIZAL WANT TO EXPRESS IN THE FIRST POEM HE
WROTE FOR THE FILIPINOS?
 In summary, Rizal's first poem shows his first nationalist feelings
and his faith in the ability of the future people of the Philippines to
advance their nation. His following writings will call for equality,
loyalty, and knowledge as the means to the nation's liberation and
progress, and this work establishes the tone for those writings.

b. WHAT IS YOUR INTERPRETATION OF THE POEM “SA AKING MGA


KABATA”?
 In "Sa Aking Mga Kabata," as I have interpreted this, Rizal
expresses his earliest nationalist impulses and abiding love for his
country. It acts as a call to action for the young people of the
Philippines to be proud of their ancestry and work for the
advancement of their nation. The poem serves as evidence of
Rizal's ongoing influence as a nationalist, supporter of social
justice, and champion of the Filipino identity.

c. DID JOSE RIZAL WRITE THE POEM “SA AKING KABATA’?


 According to my research about the poem of “Sa aking kabata”
there’s no definitive evidence who write this poem because there
are no existing documents or written evidence that directly
connects Rizal to the poem but the message inside of that poem
continues to be a significant work of Philippine literature that has
grown to be closely linked to Rizal's reputation as a writer and
national hero.
