 Background: Milwaukee, according to TMJ4 News (2013, was established at the site whereby

the Milwaukee, Kinnickinnic, and Menomonee rivers flow into Lake Michigan.

 Milwaukee Waterways commenced as a Great Lakes port in mid-1835, after the arrival of the

first commercial shipment vessel.

 Attention: The Laurentide ice sheet, around twelve thousand 12,000 years ago, started to

withdraw from the southeast as well as northern Wisconsin (American Water works, 2016). 

 Thesis: This essay offers an overview of Milwaukee Waterways.

Body Paragraph One

 Topic Sentence: Milwaukee waterways' past starts with the individuals who understood its

importance and employed it in sustaining their living.

 Supporting Detail One: Numerous Native Americas called the area home for many years

besides building communities around the river. 

 Supporting Detail Two: The water became essential for agricultural activities and hunting

because several communities used that opportunity to grow agricultural staples, including maize,

squash, and beans, which needed irrigation systems (Disaster Documentaries, 2016).

twenty breweries, and after a couple of years, the city had more than forty breweries.

 Supporting Detail Two: With Milwaukee's quick-growing residents, industries and populations

filled the Milwaukee Waterways with human as well as industrial waste products.
