Research Design

The questionnaires were used to know the level of knowledge and comprehension of the

students of STI on the school’s Vision-Mission by using the Descriptive-Analytical Method.

Scope, Limitation, and Delimitations

The respondents for the questionnaire are all students of STI General Santos City who are

taking-up BSIT, BSHRM, BSCS, TEM, and ASCT. Thirty (30) students were asked to answer

the questions using a non-probability sampling method which is convenience-sampling.

Instrumentation

The primary data gathering tool used are questionnaires. The questions were formulated

using the school’s official handbook as reference.

Research Tool

The respondents’ answers were all converted to percentile by using a statistical method called

Frequency Distribution.

P = F/n x 100

P = percentage
F = correct answers or number of students
with the same variable
n = total points or total number of respondents
100 = total percentage
Data Presentation, Interpretation, and Analysis

The chart shows that the courses BSHRM, TEM, and ASCT have better knowledge of the

schools Vision-Mission with all having a result of 60%. While courses BSIT and ASCT, having

a score of 57%, have better understanding of the STI Vision-Mission. Also, it shows that all

respondents from BSHRM, TEM, and ASCT think that the school is being true and faithful to its

Vision-Mission.
The chart shows that ASCT has the best overall understanding with a score of 58% and is

followed by the BSHRM having 56%. The men surpassed the women by 5 percent in the overall

score. It is also shown that the new students have more understanding on the school’s Vision-

Mission than the old students by a margin of just a percent.

The chart shows that more men are thinking that the school is following its Vision-

Mission than the women respondents. Also, it shows that a hundred percent of new students

think that the school is being faithful to the STI Vision-Mission.

Conclusion

The result of the study suggests that the course ASCT has the most overall understanding

than the other courses that had participated in the research. But due to the lack of respondents,

the second highest which is the BSHRM seems to be the most reliable. It also shows that new

students are more knowledgeable of the schools Vision-Mission. Perhaps old students have

forgotten about most of the Vision-Mission compared to the freshmen who had just been

introduced to the STI Vision-Mission and handbook. The result also shows that old students are
more skeptical about the schools Vision-Mission. This may be because of the amount of time

they had spent in school that made them more opinionated and gave them more time to criticize.

Overall, no results went lower than 50 percent. Which means that the student of STI have

understood more than a half of its Vision-Mission.

Disclaimer

The result of this study is inconclusive for a lot of variables were not controlled and

delimited. Such as the total number of STI students and the equality of respondents that

participated among the courses. Also we have failed to acquire respondents from other courses

that made the margin of error much more astounding. The sampling method used is also

unreliable for there is no other available method that can be used given the wide scope and

number of uncontrolled variables.

Nevertheless, the study is only reliable as a descriptive study among the included

respondents and not the entirety of the school.
