CHAPTER I
THE PRBLEM AND ITS SETTING
Background of the Study
The rate of out of school children/youth in the Philippines is growing. Today’s high
school students faces several complex experience that impact his or her decision to stay in
school. The high rates of school dropout worldwide and their highlight the need for a close
study of cause and consequences.
For that problem we have conducted a research for this case. Literature has
suggested that dropout might be explained by multiple causes and different levels
(individuals, family, school, and neighborhood) the aim of the current study is to examine
the relation between individuals (defiant, attitude, responsibility, and lack of interest) family
(educational figure, absent, and parental monitoring) school factors (frauncy and school
conflict) and school dropout.
Conceptual Framework
Figure 1 presents the conceptual framework of the study. It consists of two variables, factors
affecting as an independent variable and drop-out rate as the dependent variable.
In figure 1, factors affecting as independent variable pertains the dropout rate of some Grade
11 Students.
Another variable, Grade 11 Students of Cambatong National High School are the
respondents of this research.
Stating that there are several factors that affected the Drop-out Rate of Grade 11 Students of
Cambatong National High School, in which the factors are: Lack of Interest, Financial
Problems, and working.
The main purpose of this study was to gain a better understanding of the issue among Grade 11
students drop out of Cambatong National High school by determining if students perceived value of
education had a direct effect on their desire to graduate. This situation created a reason for the researcher top
look for the existence of a relationship between students perceived values of education and their decision to
drop out of high school.
This research is design to have a thorough knowledge of youth on why they cannot finish studies.
And how to solve their problems by being aware the programs of Department of Education.

A literature review the definitions of drop out in online higher education
Online higher education continues to grow yet its higher drop-out rates remain a pressing
and complex problem. However, there are many different definitions of drop-out (and related
concepts: attrition, persistence, and retention in the literature, usually related to a temporal
conception, and the issue is controversial. Inconsistent terminology is problematic because
the ways drop-out is defined determine how it is measured, tackled and , researched. This
contribution seek to remedy such issue by summarizing a scoping review of the recent
literature on the theme, focusing on the key issue of online higher education students drop-
out conceptualization and definition.

this study provides a comprehensive review of phenomenon of students dropping out from
tertiary education. Students withdrawal is the result of a long decision making process and
complex interaction between several determinants. We first provide an overview definition
theoretical models and perspective of dropping-out.
School dropout
School dropout can be defined simply as any person who fails to earn a high school diploma. In
practice, however, it can be a challenged to identify student who will drop out with precision. Dropout have
achievement to track. Additionally, studies of school dropout often begin with high school students, but
dropout occurs in the middle grades too. Finally, some students “stopout” of school and then return or
subsequently enroll in equivalency credential programs (e,g. , earn a General Education Development
(GED) certificate). This entry summarizes key points in understanding the prevalence, antecedents, and
consequences of school dropout and effort to prevent its occurrence.
Within this existing result, dropout cases of Grade 11 students of Cambatong National High School which
focuses on what are the causes of dropping out. The result of the study will serve as the basic for knowing
the dropping out of some Grade 11 students.
CHAPTER III
Research Methodology
Research Design
This research design employed in this study will be mixed method research design. This mixed
method is used to carry out the research because quantitative data is collected by the use of questionnaire
and conduct some interview for the teacher and the drop-out students.
Research Setting
This study was conducted at Grade 11Classrooms of Cambatong National High school, and also
the researchers conduct an online interview since the respondents aren’t go to school anymore.
Research Respondents
The respondents of the study are the Grade 11 Drop-out Students.
Research Instruments
The research instruments used in this study is survey questionnaire and conducting an online
interview.
Statistical Treatment
This study was conducted conducted to determine the relationship between school dropout and
individual, family and school variables.
CHAPTER IV
PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
This chapter presents the results, the analysis and interpretation of data gathering from the
answers to the questionnaires distributed to the field. The said data were presented to tabular from in
accordance with the specific questions posited on the statement of the problem.

In figure 1 shows the gender group. 92.30% of the respondents are males and 7.70% of the
respondents are females
CHAPTER V
Summary
High school graduation and dropout rates have long been used as indicators of educational system
productivity and effectiveness and of social and economic well- being. In this study, we’d found out that
lack of interest is one of the primary problem that caused of dropping out of some students.
Conclusion
Dropping out high school if for some, not a “permanent” condition they drop out of school but later
return with the intention of completing their studies. Based in this research on of the reason of dropping out
is lack of interest (which is the highest factor), next is working to support their family, and financial problem
Recommendation
School counselors should address issues in the group that meet the needs of the students. The first
key also to motivating struggling learners is to build a positive relationship with each student. This is likely
a priority for you and your teachers. I regularly see school focusing on the caring aspect of school, and
should remember it truly is foundational to learn.
