How will this lesson be implemented? Check all that apply.

☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are
guided by the teacher's direction and expectations.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the
topic for presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal.
Products of learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a
lesson like this.

☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their

learning and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be
reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to
the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation:

The activity that I plan to do with my students is to practice using Sway. I will make students
aware of their goals by reading the lesson and standard to them, while we are going over the
activity, I will keep reminding them on the goals. Student’s will utilize technology by using a
laptop or desktop computer to use the sway app. The teacher will go around the classroom to
help out any student that may need further assistance. Feedback will be provided to the
students by reviewing their final digital story.

Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way

that gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you
manage the classroom behaviors on the technology:
Technology can be distracting so in order to stay on task I will set up every laptop/ desktop to
a lock down browser so student’s will not be able to go on any other website during this
lesson. Student’s will be actively involved in the digital story by creating their own book
withing the sway software. They will be reminded on how and what they will need to write
about during the lesson.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students will use the software sway in order to
complete this lesson. In the Sway software students will be able to add images, audio and
subtilties for their digital story. This lesson will engage students due to using technology. They
will represent their creativity by completing a digital story on Sway. They will take action by
creating the software individually and will be able to express their writing skills through the
digital story.

Reflecting on enhanced learning:

This lesson will impact students learning by giving them the freedom to create their own
digital story. I look forward to seeing what students come up with. Technology can be used for
many things’ creativity being the most important.
