INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE KANCIL SCIENCE COMPETITION (KANCIL) 2023

The above matter refers.

2. Kancil Science Competition is an annual competition for primary, secondary and pre-university
students that aims to challenge students’ science knowledge through critical thinking, problem-solving, and
general scientific knowledge. 56,000+ students from 3000+ schools have participated in this competition since
2018. This competition also is a platform for students to be selected in the national team and participate in
International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO).

3. The questions in Kancil are aligned with the Malaysian curriculum standards, in addition to increase
student’s interest in science by relating science with their daily life and current environment. Participants will be
awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals (if any) and a certificate of achievements.

4. The medalist of Kancil from Gamma category (student age 13, 14, and 15 years old) will then be invited
to participate in Malaysian Junior Science Olympiad (MyJSO). Top students in MyJSO will be selected to
participate in IJSO 2023. IJSO is an annual competition in the Natural Sciences for students who are under sixteen
years old on 31st December of the competition year.

5. Hence, we would like to invite you to participate in Kancil 2023. Details of the competition as below:

Format : 30 objective questions to be answered in 1 hour
Competition mode : Offline (paper-based)
Language : English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil

Fee per student :
