I. OBJECTIVES
Content The learner demonstrates understanding of: East Asian
Standards literature as an art form inspired and influenced by nature;
relationship of visual, sensory, and
verbal signals in both literary and expository texts; strategies
in listening to long descriptive and narrative texts; value of
literal and figurative language;
and appropriate grammatical signals or expressions suitable
to patterns of idea development.
Performance The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering a
Standards brief and creative entertainment speech featuring a variety of
effective paragraphs,
appropriate grammatical signals or expressions in topic
development, and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and
behavior.
Learning At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
Objectives a. Define comparing and contrasting.
b. Discuss the importance of comparing and contrasting
one’s beliefs/convictions with those presented in a
material viewed
c. Compare and contrast own opinion with those
presented in familiar text. (EN8SS-II 1.2)
B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation The teacher will ask the students to play an interactive game
(5 minutes) to check their initial knowledge on the similarities and
differences concept. This game will be through a powerpoint
presentation with the following details:
The teacher will choose two students from the girls and have
one boy to compare them both. On the same way, the
teacher will choose another two students from the boys and
have one girl to contrast them both.
Guide QuestiUNons:
1. Where do you think the word unlike belong?
2. How did you classify that it states similarity or
differences?
3. Activity The class will be grouped into two (2). The activity will be
(15 minutes) named as Your text sounds similar. The teacher will provide
each group one selection to spot the similarities and
differences mentioned in the text..
Group Standards:
The groups must arrange their seats in a circular
manner.
The groups must listen to the instructions of the
teacher.
Each group will be given seven (7) copies of the same
text and let them read and analyze the selection for
three (3) minutes.
The group must select one representative to jot down
the similarities and differences in the manila paper
through a venn diagram.
The groups must finish in 10 minutes and present their
output to the class in two (2) minutes.

1. What are the similarities of cell phones and personal
computers presented in the selection?

Just like the writer, I believe the phone has a lot of options to
choose
But, I disagree that only cellphone can call someone from
afar
IV. EVALUATION
1. Assessment The teacher will present new set of selection and let the
(5 minutes) students label the diagram. This will be presented in a
powerpoint presentation and select responses from students.
